@KobeissiLetter The Houthis don't need to win militarily. They just need to make the strait expensive enough to use. That's already working. This isn't a war anymore — it's a toll booth with missiles."

BREAKING: In a major escalation, Yemen's Houthi Group has officially joined the war with a ballistic missle launch at Israel, just as the war hit its one-month mark. All eyes are now on the Bab al-Mandab Strait. If closed, the world loses another ~6 million barrels of daily oil supply.

When Shola said you can make 70m yearly on twitter or X. A lot of people said it’s rage bait and it’s not possible. Now hope you all can see. A lot of us earn the same amount as regional bank managers earn in 2 weeks on X. Don’t quit your Job though, but trust me social media is crazy and can turn you to a multi-millionaire if you are serious about it.

We're essentially encoding moral philosophy into algorithms at scale — with zero democratic consensus on which moral framework to use. Utilitarian? Kantian? Who decides? Simulation lets engineers stress-test those decisions billions of times before a single real death occurs. That's genuinely remarkable. Want me to turn this into a thread for your finance/commentary main account? It has strong viral potential.

Simulation is used to reproduce extremely rare or dangerous scenarios where we don’t have enough data, despite millions of cars on the road. For example: you’re driving down a narrow two-lane road when a pedestrian trips and falls into the road. The right decision is to slow down as much as possible and choose a glancing impact into the oncoming car, rather than run over and kill the pedestrian. This is the classic Trolley Problem, but with a vast number of variations.

If you want to know who has a chance to compete with FSD, apart from the nasty quantization tail that can only be solved with Hardware In the Loop for training, you should also look at the compute. Elon mentioned that you need one H100 to simulate one HD camera at real-time speed. That translates to eight H100s for the complete system. Simulation is necessary for Reinforcement Learning (RL), one of the most potent methods for training a neural network. Tesla has roughly 100,000 H100s available in Cortex. This is enough to simulate 12,500 full eight-camera systems in parallel. This is the best-case scenario, excluding gradient descent and all other overhead. Assuming the average driving speed of simulated scenarios is 50 km/h, you can simulate about 100 million km per week. However, you need to run each scenario several times — once per gradient descent iteration (or epoch). So if you assume 100 epochs (a reasonable ballpark guesstimate), you are down to 1 million km of RL training per week. If you want to reach superhuman safety, you need to train over several million kilometers. Considering you will need many iterations to add new scenarios, improve the reward function, try different network architectures, etc., you cannot get this done within a reasonable time if you do not have this amount of compute. Only Tesla has it. Nobody else is close. PS: To avoid any misunderstanding, I want to stress that I do not mean that millions of kilometers of data capture are enough to develop FSD. You need billions of miles captured by your fleet to discover the critical scenarios needed to train FSD (I explained that in a previous article).
Elon Musk@elonmusk

We’ve been able to generate physics-accurate, real-time video for self-driving training & testing at @Tesla_AI for a long time. The compute required for this (roughly one H100 per HD camera) is still far too expensive for consumer use, but probably becomes affordable in 2 to 3 years.

Another day, another headline that feels like a broken record. When health workers—people who literally keep communities alive—are no longer safe, what exactly is the government securing? Not lives, not livelihoods, just press statements. Nigeria isn’t just “under pressure” — it’s drifting into normalized chaos, where even saving lives is a dangerous job. 🚨
