Yesterday, during the broadcast between the Leafs and the Kraken, @FriedgeHNIC mentioned the idea (not rumored, just a thought) of the Leafs potentially acquiring a player like Robert Thomas, who is 26 years old and is in year 3 of an 8-year deal at $8.125M per season. With the recent stretch, the Leafs are most likely going to be sellers at the deadline, but he brought up the point of trying to acquire a player with term who could help next year and going forward, since there may not be many, if any, players like that available come summertime. If it is a guy like Thomas or someone else the Leafs could acquire now, even if it would not mainly be for this season but comes with term, would it be smart to pull the trigger and give up even more assets for a player? #leafsforever
