The twenty five years since have only calloused a cold heart further. If you want Trump to stop sending troops to Iran you have to make him a better offer. He is transactional and the only thing he is concerned with is his own self-interest. Our enemies understand this and our allies do now as well. The more money that this war makes for those on the inside of this administration, and his inner circle at Mar-a-Lago, the longer it will last and the greater the toll will be for Iran and American forces. We’re still reeling from the impacts of the oil crisis, and now new forecasts point to a potentially powerful El Niño that could disrupt weather patterns worldwide—including in the Philippines. We are already under an El Niño Watch, and according to the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts, nearly all models now point to at least a moderate El Niño by June. During the last four months of the year, some projections already suggest sea surface temperatures in the tropical Pacific could exceed +2.5°C, which is a threshold associated with the unofficial term “super El Niño,” last seen during the 2015–2016 event. While El Niño is often associated with heat and drought, PAGASA warns 𝗶𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝘆 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗳𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵𝘄𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗼𝗻 (𝗵𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗴𝗮𝘁), increasing the risk of heavy rains, floods, and landslides, especially in western Luzon and Metro Manila.
