The issue has more to do with us as people, but the government also shares responsibility for failing to enforce proper environmental sanitation. Today, there’s hardly any state in Nigeria without widespread indiscriminate waste disposal.
What’s needed is a deliberate and structured approach: the government must develop and implement an efficient waste collection system, alongside sustainable recycling processes. Without both enforcement and proper systems in place, the problem will persist.
