@TankyBitch @d20_highroller You're right, but I wouldn't really even count them since the larpers and tourists rarely buy anything, and when they do they buy 1/10th of what actual fans buy.
Mostly just a single kit or a second hand lot to "own the chuds"

@EzriMuldoon @HMBohemond GW will keep stroking them and letting them revel in inherited entitlement.
English

@HMBohemond The "There are no good guys in 40k" discourse is exclusively applied to the Imperium
Any discussion of the atrocities that the Tau or another faction commits are deliberately ignored
Like with all beloved legacy media these "new fans" only care about destroying what others love

I think the ultimate irony of Tau larpers is that they sit there and call the Imperium of Man fascist and Imperium fans fascist for liking them. All while talking about how the Tau Empire is a force for moral good within the Warhammer 40,000 universe.
The Tau Empire is fascist.
Not "I don't like it" fascist the way leftists describe the ideology. Actually, unironically, politically fascist.
It is run by an all controlling dictator, the Ethereal Supreme. It's economy is controlled by the state. The state (the Greater Good) is the subject of secular worship. You are not allowed to betray, leave, or disagree with the state.
That, by definition, is fascism.
"B-b-b-ut it's actually an Indian caste system!"
Guess what? The Tau Empire is not only fascist, but but styled off Nazism. The Tau castes are by definition races. Race is segregated. Your role in society is determined by race. You can never be anything but what your race determines. One race, the Ethereals, are considered superior in every way. Non-Tau are third class citizens or worse, just outright exterminated because the state has no use for them.
But hey, the trains run on time in the Tau Empire, right?
Sound familiar?
Tau are fascists. By Tau fan logic, this makes Tau fans fascists. Don't hate me, I'm just holding you to your own standards.

English

@Tyson_wd @d20_highroller Nah the larpers will still be here because all GW cares about now is rich woke tourists.
English

@d20_highroller "2-3 Editions out" my brother in the god Emperor of Mankind if GW keeps going on like this there might not be 2-3 more Editions.
11th is going to have to *slap* otherwise by the end the only people left will be the Competitive Event attenders.

@shas_kais Tau “healthcare” when Nurgle comes rolling in granting those who believe in him immortality and immunity to sickness.
Would sure love to see such a young race meet age old plagues from across the galaxy they had no exposure to.

I reviewed the lore about Roboute's 500 world project. I won't lie, it's looking pretty grim.
Roboute is replacing the semi-independent systems of Imperial worlds (feudalism) with straight-up fascism, Astartes fascism! The lore treats this as a good thing. The only way that mankind can survive what's to come. What is GW smoking?!
He is doing it forcefully. Sure, he asks nicely first, but if he is refused, his Ultramarines and their legions of Auxilia will force the worlds to kneel before Macragge. The disobedient rulers who cling to the old ways and/or are more loyal to Terra are replaced with Space Marines or mortal rulers who know their place. And all of them answer to the Tetrarchs, who in turn answer to Roboute, not the Emperor and certainly not the High Lords of Terra.
The resources and manpower of the Imperial worlds drawn into the sphere of Ultramar flow toward Macragge rather than Terra. The wealthy industrial world of Garranox is on the brink of breaking itself as it attempts to pay the tithe to Terra and fulfill its obligation to Ultramar, so it's unrealistic for Imperial worlds to support both sides.
Roboute plans to enforce his social and political reforms across hundreds of worlds. In the name of progress and enlightenment, Roboute is employing tyrannical means. It's a precursor for his new vision for the Imperium.
The irony here is that what Roboute is doing in the south echoes what Abaddon is doing in the north. Following the theme of Roboute and Abaddon being mirror images of each other, Abaddon's Dark Imperium is a mirror of Roboute's expanding Ultramar. Both claim that they are honouring the ideals of the Great Crusade. Both want to save the Imperium from itself and reshape it in the image of Space Marine supremacy (in opposition to the explicit wishes of the Emperor). So, how is Avenging Son any better than the Warmaster?
Imperial traditionalists and conservatives are raising alarms against this overstep by the Primarch. The nobility across many worlds within and nearby Ultramar are staging resistance. Inquisitors are monitoring the situation. And surely the High Lords are sweating bullets.
Now, why is it funny? Imperial fans for years rejected the notion that the Imperium is fascist, but here is Roboute with his plans to blanket the entirety of the Imperium under fascistic rule. Truly, in many ways, Roboute is Wokehammer's greatest ally.

@ThatFencingDude @shas_kais Don’t try and bring a point to a communist. It will fall on violent and unwilling ears.
English

@shas_kais I don’t know if this is meant to be more of a joke or a larp… but the Tau is an empire that colonizes and engages in imperial conquest…. It feels problematic to try and invoke as a symbol of anti-fascism.
