Have you heard of the New Madrid Fault? It's a 150-mile-long seismic zone running through Missouri and nearby states, hidden deep underground. This active fault system could shake the Midwest big time. It spans MO, AR, TN, KY, IL. A Thread 🧵 (1 of 7)

Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane: There is so much symbolism in the scene with Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane. There is a medical term for the blood-sweating Jesus experienced in Luke 22:44. The medical term for sweating blood is hematohidrosis, also known as hematidrosis or hemidrosis. It's rare for capillaries that feed the sweat glands to rupture and bleed into the sweat. This can happen during extreme physical or emotional stress, such as severe fear. The secreted fluid can range from blood-tinged to bright red. It's as if Jesus could feel the crushing, the pressing, on himself. Just as the fruit and its seed must be crushed under great weight in an olive press to obtain the oil, Jesus was similarly crushed under the immense burden and weight of our sins and the judgment of a holy God. This crushing process also removes bitterness. In this way, Jesus was crushed to become the anointing oil that brings healing to us today. What was growing in the Garden of Gethsemane? Olive trees.

On Holy Tuesday, the Temple became a battleground of truth versus hypocrisy. As He taught in the Temple courts, the chief priests, scribes, and elders approached with a calculated ambush: “By what authority do You do these things? And who gave You this authority?” (Mt 21:23) Jesus looked at them, steady, discerning, and asked a question in return: “Was the baptism of John from heaven, or from men?” They paused. If they said “from heaven,” they’d condemn themselves and admit Jesus’ authority. To deny John was to lose the people; if they said “from men,” the crowd might rise against them. They stayed silent, but unwillingly they answered: “We do not know.” And Jesus, unmoved, replied: “Then neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.” And Jesus, with piercing clarity, began to teach in parables: The Two Sons: one who said “no” but obeyed, the other who said “yes” and did nothing. The Wicked Tenants: who murdered the son of the vineyard owner. The Wedding Banquet: where the invited guests rejected the king, and strangers filled their place. Every parable exposed their hipocrisy. They knew He was speaking of them, the unfaithful, the murderers of prophets, the builders who had rejected the cornerstone. But they feared the people, and for now, they held their wrath. So they plotted subtle ambushes. They sent spies now, men of polished words and deadly intentions. “Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar?” they asked, with smiles. If He said yes, He’d lose the people. If He said no, He’d be a rebel. Jesus asked for a coin. Jesus: “Whose image is this?” The people: “Caesar’s.” Jesus: “Then render unto Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s.” Silence. Then the Sadducees approached, mocking the resurrection with an absurd tale of seven brothers marrying one woman. Jesus answered with divine authority: "At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven. But about the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what God said to you, ‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? He is not the God of the dead but of the living.” Even the scribes marveled at such a powerful retort. The day wore on. Jesus and His disciples left the temple and while heading to outside the city, His disciples came up to Him to call His attention to its buildings. Jesus replied to them: “Do you see all these things?” He asked. “Truly I tell you, not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down.” Then they headed to the Mount of Olives.

The day after Palm Sunday is called Holy Monday. On that day, Jesus was traveling from Bethany to Jerusalem when he noticed a fig tree full of leaves. Expecting to find fruit, he went up to it but found none. He said, “May no one ever eat fruit from you again.” The following morning, as the disciples passed by the same tree, they saw that it had withered from the roots. Peter said, “Rabbi, look! The fig tree you cursed has withered.” Jesus responded, “Have faith in God.” The image is striking: a fig tree full of leaves but without fruit—an outward sign of life with no real substance. In Christian tradition, this fig tree represents the idea of appearing faithful or religious on the outside while lacking true spiritual fruit within. This account is recorded in Matthew 21 and Mark 11.

Today is the feast day of the Annunciation. What happened today literally split history in two. The Angel Gabriel appears to Mary and tells her she will bear the Son of God. The entire fate of the human race hinged on the absolute submission of a young, unmarried girl in Nazareth. To understand the profound theology of the Annunciation, you have to understand the Fall. In the Garden of Eden, a virgin (Eve) listened to a fallen angel, asserted her own prideful will, and brought death into the world. In Nazareth, a Virgin (Mary) listened to a faithful Archangel, submitted her will entirely to God, and brought Life Himself into the world. As Saint Irenaeus wrote in the 2nd century: "The knot of Eve's disobedience was loosed by the obedience of Mary." She is the New Eve. She gave her "Fiat" (Let it be done unto me according to your word). No hesitation, no thought about herself. Absolutely and holy obedient unto her Lord. In that single moment of perfect obedience, the gates of hell were shattered, and the infinite Creator of the universe took on human flesh. The spiritual war for our souls officially turned the tide. The Blessed Virgin Mary's fiat, her yes, opened the way to our salvation. When she said her Fiat ("Let it be done to me"), the Holy Spirit overshadowed her. Mary officially became the living Ark of the New Covenant. The God who cannot be contained by the cosmos physically confined Himself to a mother's womb to wage war on sin and death. The modern world screams, "My will be done." The Mother of God whispered, "Thy will be done." And that whisper crushed the head of the serpent.

Despite tens of thousands of people reaching out to the Wisconsin authorities, they have still refused to enforce the law or protect the dogs. There's only one choice. We head back to Ridglan Farms to rescue ALL the dogs. And we need YOU to join us.
