The wave of confidence and patriotism stemming from our bloodless victory over Venezuela is going to be channeled into the upcoming war with Iran. The only problem is that war with Iran will not be bloodless, it will spark a 3rd World War and likely destroy this country.

@PAHoyeck Not sure if you’re teaching political philosophy, and I don’t have a particular philosopher in mind, but ‘Dirty Harry’ is probably the most concise and clearly portrayed argument in favor of Facism you’ll be able to find in movie format.

‘Thus Spoke Zarathustra’ by Nietzsche with ‘American Beauty’ and ‘Melancholia’ (rising above the herd morality, creating your own meaning in life) ‘The Communist Manifesto’ by Marx with ‘Snowpiercer’. (false consciousness, class struggle) ‘The Trial’ by Kafka with ‘A Serious Man’ (absurdism) ‘Prometheus’ and the first season of ‘Westworld’ with any Philosopher wrestling with consciousness and what it means to be human. (Aristotle, Plato, Descartes or even Hume)

Dear philosophy friends: I'm toying with the idea of completely overhauling my Philosophy and Popular Culture syllabus. Could you recommend me pairings of good films and philosophical classics that you think would go well together?

The discourse surrounding the many supposed incidents of women raping men has never been very interesting to me. Despite the infinitesimally rare cases where it actually happens, most alleged acts of female-on-male rape are, in fact, (like the one below) not rape at all. There’s a certain group of men on the internet trying to establish themselves (in terms of rape) as essentially equally victimized by it in society. “Women rape us too🥲!” This is both absurd and a whine. (whining is not very masculine btw) Fact of the matter is this. Rape is almost an entirely male crime and no, men are not raped by women on anything resembling a regular basis. Acknowledging this is not performative man-hating or giving lip service to the feminists (who tend to be dim-witted and consumed by resentment) it’s just brute fact. A lot of men have fallen into a goofy egalitarian way of thinking that dictates the following. Men and women are equivalent + Raping is evil + Men do all the raping = Men must be uniquely evil. If you buy the first and second proposition, to avoid the conclusion you must necessarily make men and women equally guilty of rape. In reality, the first proposition is false - men and women are not equivalent. Men are in fact capable of committing greater atrocities than women (like rape) AND ALSO capable of greater acts of good than women — the iron law of “As above, so below” This post, like a lot of right-wing internet content is actually just an inversion of Marxist goals but still within the Marxist framework and like the majority of Marxist thinking, sooner or later it will require the thinker to abandon reality itself.

By a mile, the most perverse effect of AI on the online discourse is that it empowers mid-wits to present even the most rudimentary insight as incredibly profound. And the average reader buys it because it’s dressed up in impressive language. The old saying “you can’t put lipstick on a pig” is quickly becoming obsolete. You can put lipstick on the pig you just need ChatGPT!!

Carl Jung said that so much unnecessary suffering comes into the world because people will not accept the “legitimate suffering” that comes from being human. In fact, he said neurotic behavior is usually the result of refusing that legitimate suffering.

A three-way debate under one of my posts: 1. Public housing is bad because it creates ghettoes 2. Public housing is good, it only creates ghettoes because it’s underfunded 3. Public housing is good because it creates ghettoes, concentrating the poor in one easy-to-avoid place

I’m back in Richmond and decided to visit one my favorite coffee shops. The place is explicitly leftist (which is retarded) but they make great coffee and when I lived in the neighborhood I’d go regularly both for the coffee and out of proffesional curiosity at what the lefties are getting up to. Went in today for a cold brew. Sat down and decided I was going to take a look at some of the commie literature they have lying around. I pick up a pamphlet titled “It’s Safer in The Front: taking the offensive against tyranny” written by an anonymous leftist agitator describing his participation in an assortment of demonstrations and riots across America. I had read the majority of the pamphlet when he starts talking about the riots themselves. While describing the fear that he feels right before a brawl with the cops, he starts listing all the things that make him afraid. Police batons, jail time, felony charges, etc. But here’s the fun part He says “the truly frightening thing is responsibility” specifically taking for responsibility for himself. The thing that right wing people do every day without a second thought is to a leftist more terrifying than literal prison 🤣
