For the past month, my student has stood in the hallway and said Good Morning to every Third Grader. For the past two days, a friend has joined him. I didn’t assign them to this job - they just wanted to bring joy to other students in the morning. Kindness matters 💛

One of my biggest regrets from college is not taking a class with Nikki Giovanni. I attended an event once where she sat a few rows ahead of me. Her presents and energy could be felt from a distance. I was speechless being near someone so incredible.

Our 1950s gym has been under renovation since 2020 and is almost done! Today, our staff lined up to leave their mark by signing the inside of one of the last unfinished walls. A memorable day for our #WashingTEAM as we start the 22-23 school year!
