There is a documentary in the works about the SCUMM engine and its many legendary games like Sam and Max, Monkey Island etc. They have set up a mailing list to gauge interest so they can get it off the ground. scummdoc.com Go check it out!

Before we can move this thing into crowdfunding and production, we need to know that it's commercially viable — that it's a thing enough people will actually buy to justify the cost of making it. And for that we need everyone interested to sign up at scummdoc.com

I'll be asking him lots of behind-the-scenes questions as well as getting him to really dig into and reflect upon the evolution of his design philosophies during/since the SCUMM years, and weaving all of it into the story of the SCUMM engine and games.

I'm delighted to share that Ron Gilbert has agreed to be interviewed for my new documentary project, Passport to Adventure: The SCUMM Story (@scummdoc). Besides creating SCUMM and Maniac Mansion, he led the first two Monkey Islands and the first few Humongous junior adventures.
