@Haqiqatjou @Zaghreib Palestinian wasn’t a “fringe” issue for UAE, it actively helped Israel in every way it could, going as far as logistical & strategic support, in its genocide on Palestinians. It deserves to bite dust in a literal sense for its crimes in Sudan alone.

This is a good post on the UAE government's betrayal of the Palestinians. The UAE consciously refuses to refer to itself as a Muslim country anymore. This is the government that Faris, Farid, Adnan, and Uthman bin Farooq defend and refuse to criticize.

WikiLeaks cables showed MBZ speaking very negatively about it. The Abraham Accords were never about peace or Palestine. It was about national interest - access to Israel's tech sector, intelligence networks & technology. In return, giving Israel access to Emirati jurisdictions & proxy territories in Yemen, Somaliland & Sudan. The only ideological component is a common fight against Islamism - really a fight against the Arab street & those promoting the Palestinian cause. On Gaza, the Emiratis were purely pragmatic. They provided humanitarian aid while enabling the IDF through back-channel deals - offering mercenaries on the ground & proposing to police Gaza alongside the IDF. The message to Washington was simple: "We are the only Arab country that can help you because we have a relationship with Israel. We are exceptional." It was never about the fate of Palestinians. Abu Dhabi has been actively shying away from even calling itself a Muslim country.

Saudi Arabia & Iran should really sit down to discuss how to partition the UAE between themselves, with Oman also getting a fair share. The UAE is not a real country in the conventional sense, given its unusually constructed population and social structure compared to a typical nation-state. Absorbing the UAE into Saudi Arabia, Iran, and Oman would resolve its state identity tensions & could actually bring Saudi & Iran closer.

His takfir of rulers of adjacent towns in Nahd, that opposed or refused his ideas.
