@poppymoppet I was visiting a friend at Virgin Manor Studios in 1973, a chap walked in and asked if I could spare a cigarette - sure. Few minutes later, same chap playing a guitar in the garden. Who that? I asked my friend. Mike Oldfield preparing for first live perf of Tubular Bells at QEH!

Born #OTD 1918 (d 2009), stage, film & tv actor Joseph Wiseman. As the evil Dr No in the film of the same name – first of the movies based on Ian Fleming’s spy thrillers – Wiseman will be remembered as being the first ‘Bond villain’. But he wasn’t green. First Pan paperback 1960.
