@DavidSacks @DavidSacks why don’t you stick to cryptocurrency and stay away from Middle East politics and international affairs and surely stay away from talking about what Israel can or should do. You know nothing about that. You made a fool of yourself.

This is a smart strategy. Thanks to President Trump, the U.S. is energy independent. The countries that actually depend on Gulf oil should apply pressure to reopen the strait.

@piersmorgan You are so confused. Israel provides out of its good will power to its enemies. It’s theirs. Let the Gaza people invest and build their electric grid…

You missed my point.. why does Israel control power into Gaza at all? What gives them that right?
Bethany S. Mandel@bethanyshondark

@piersmorgan Should the allies have supplied electricity to Nazi Germany and Auschwitz? Should Hamas have spent their donor resources building infrastructure instead of terror tunnels and rockets?

For my British and European friends who are "shocked" and "surprised", here are 10 reasons you didn't see this coming. Read this short post and then read the replies from our American friends who will confirm what I'm saying. 1. Americans love their country and want it to be the best in the world. America is a nation of people who conquered a continent. They love strength. They love winning. Any leader who appeals to that has an automatic advantage. 2. Unlike Europeans, Americans have not accepted managed decline. They don't have Net Zero here, they believe in producing their own energy and making it as cheap as possible because they know that their prosperity depends on it. 3. Prices for most basic goods in the US have increased rapidly and are sky high. What the official statistics say about inflation and the reality of people's lives are not the same. 4. Unlike you, Americans do not believe in socialism. They believe in meritocracy. They don't care about the super rich being super rich because they know that they live in a country where being super rich is available to anyone with the talent and drive to make it. They don't resent success, they celebrate it. 5. Americans are the most pro-immigration people in the world. Read that again. Seriously, read it again. Americans love an immigrant success story. They want more talented immigrants to come to America. But they refuse to accept people coming illegally. They believe in having a border. 6. Americans are sensitive about racial issues and their country's imperfect history. They believe that those who are disadvantaged by the circumstances of their birth should be given the opportunity to succeed. What they reject, however, is the idea that in order to address the errors of the past new errors must be made. DEI is racist. They know it and they reject it precisely because they are not racist. 7. Americans are the most philosemitic nation on earth. October 7 and the pro-Hamas left's reaction shocked them to their very core because, among other things, they remember what 9/11 was like and they know jihad when they see it. 8. Americans are extremely practical people. They care about what works, not what sounds good. In Europe, we produce great writers and intellectuals. In America they produce (and attract) great engineers, businessmen and investors. Because of this, they care less about Trump's rhetoric than you do and more about his policies than you do. 9. Americans are deeply optimistic people. They hate negativity. The woke view of American history as a series of evils for which they must eternally apologise is utterly abhorrent to them. They believe in moving forward together, not endlessly obsessing about the past. 10. America is a country whose founding story is one of resistance to government overreach. They loathe unnecessary restrictions, regulations and control. They understand that freedom comes with the price of self-reliance and they pay it gladly.

@BillAckman What about rebuilding the education system, getting rid of UNRWA, the antisemitic and "river to the sea" ideology indoctrination? It has to start there. Don't fall into the misconception that if they only had something to lose, and a flourishing economy things would improve.

A few high-level thoughts on a potential solution in Gaza: Step one: Give Gazan residents something to look forward to. Without hope, there is only despair, anger, and violence. Hope comes from Israel’s and United States’ commitment that once Hamas is destroyed, Israel and the U.S. will support the creation of New Gaza subject to security commitments from the U.S. and Gulf states. New Gaza is completely rebuilt with modern infrastructure, sustainable energy and clean water, world-class architecture, technology, healthcare, education, favorable taxation, thoughtfully designed business creation incentives, and world class resorts on the Mediterranean. The design of New Gaza begins immediately with a global competition where master planners, architects, technologists, form consortiums to compete for large financial awards and the opportunity to build a new city from a blank sheet of paper. New Gaza is a model city. Think the Saudi neom.com but on the Mediterranean. New Gaza is rebuilt and governed by a consortium of Gulf states and the U.S. Economic and tax incentives are designed to encourage private foreign investment so private sector investors have a vested long term interest in Gaza and businesses are incentivized to locate in Gaza. Step two: Civilians in Rafa are moved to a refugee camp safe zone built in the Negev desert adjoining Gaza. Step three: IDF destroys Hamas. Step four: The reconstruction of Gaza begins. Step five: Civilians return as the city is rebuilt. As always, I welcome your feedback. If you have nothing constructive to say, please keep it to yourself. Flame throwing accomplishes nothing. If you think this a bad approach, please share your better ideas.

From @tabletmag: “How the Gaza Ministry of Health Fakes Casualty Numbers” “The number of civilian casualties in Gaza has been at the center of international attention since the October 7 massacre. The main source for the data has been the Hamas-controlled Gaza Health Ministry. Here’s the problem with this data: The numbers are not real. That much is obvious to anyone who understands how naturally occurring numbers work. The casualties are not overwhelmingly women and children, and the majority may be Hamas fighters. If Hamas’ numbers are faked or fraudulent in some way, there may be evidence in the numbers themselves that can demonstrate it” Professor Abraham Wyner goes over the figures to find out the truth. @adiwyner is Professor of Statistics and Data Science at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and Faculty Co-Director of the Wharton Sports Analytics and Business Initiative.

What people need to understand is that UNRWA is essentially a large money laundering scheme. Hamas/PA needed a way to pay their militants regularly, to establish schools to teach hate, to launder $ to their leaders, to maintain buildings to store weapons, and to steal aid/equipment for developing a military infrastructure. They didn’t want to establish an actual economy for Palestinians to focus on becoming more prosperous because that’s not the goal so instead they just built an infrastructure that centralized terrorism and had everything else be adjacent to those activities. How do you think Hamas and PLO leaders became billionaires? Where do you think that money came from? They get a cut from the $ we send. There are millions of refugees around the world, but the point of other refugee groups is resettlement. That’s where the money goes. UNRWA is the only one that doesn’t even attempt to resettle and that even counts people born in other places (so not real refugees by any logical definition) as refugees to maintain that permanent status for Palestinians because that way they can demand more money to launder for leaders to steal and terrorism. The fact that there are terrorists part of UNRWA isn’t an accident or poor vetting, it’s the entire purpose of the way the group is structured. The limited aid stuff they do is just a cover for the central purpose. And it’s pretty telling that those who act outraged over the idea of US taxpayer money going to fight against terrorism or develop technology for defense are outraged we would pause/stop funding this money-laundering scheme for terrorists that kill Americans.
