Let me just say this... You people need to STOP saying, "If we even have midterm elections." - or - "If we ever have another presidential election." There is no law, Constitutional amendment, nor any other provision that would give Donald Trump the legal authority to unilaterally suspend, cancel, or postpone ANY elections. ​The power to set the timing of elections is strictly divided between Congress and the States, leaving the Executive Branch with no legal mechanism to interfere with the schedule of ANY elections. Even under Martial Law or invoking the Insurrection Act, NO President has the legal authority to suspend or postpone ANY elections. There are both Constitutional laws and federal laws that set SPECIFIC dates and times for both federal and midterm elections. And there are Supreme Court precedents that further establish that the dates and times of elections are basically written in stone - unless and until Congress and the States re-write those laws or pass new laws. So STOP saying, "If we even have midterm elections." - or - "If we ever have another presidential election." The only thing you're doing, is giving Trump what he wants by helping him raise doubts and fears regarding our elections. The ONLY thing Trump can do, is steal another election, but he CANNOT suspend, postpone, or prevent ANY elections. With that being said — the midterms are our only chance to end this MAGA regime shit show. VOTE!!
