As peak motorcycle riding season gets underway, Motorcycle Ohio partnered with the U.S Air Force for National Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month with a safety rally and presentation. Motorcycle Ohio also recognized four riders who survived serious crashes while wearing a helmet.

Motorcycle Ohio partnered with SAFE Delaware to recognize John Hawse as our latest “Saved by the Helmet” recipient. After a 2025 crash threw him 40 feet, John survived thanks to his helmet. MO honors riders like John to highlight the life-saving value of helmets.

We presented “Saved by the Helmet” awards at Sidney’s Blessing of the Wheels event this weekend. 16-Year-Old Gage Thiel of Upper Sandusky was riding with his 14-year-old brother Dalton in Wyandot County in March. They struck a deer and were thrown from the motorcycle.
