We've had our solar and battery system from @heatableUK for one year. Wow, it's performed well! With £2,983 saved/earned in one year, it's surely one of the best decisions we've ever made. ☀️ youtu.be/bCshAlnZM40

When it comes to writing, I know I’m not great. I’m not even good, but I do it for two reasons: 1. Because I enjoy it 2. Because I want to help good people Those who I help are short of time and their websites are in need of more content, so I step in and lend a hand. I do this as a volunteer and the people I help out are amazing guys. My time is mostly occupied by my day job which is not in the automotive industry. I don’t get much joy from it, but it pays the bills and provides a pension and I’m grateful to my employers for that. But I do love writing about cars, the industry and thoroughly enjoyed my one and - so far - only proper car review of the Nissan Micra (thanks Paul). I respect automotive journalists that do this for a living because they are super talented at what they do, whether it’s great articles, photos or videos, proper investigative journalism, or some insider scoops, they make it look so much easier than it is. Every publication is well polished and articulated to retain attention. That’s proper talent, and I’m in awe. When I compare myself to them, I don’t even register on the same scale. How could I? I’ve had 39 years not working in that industry and my talents are un-honed. My day job doesn’t even come close to doing this, either. So I come with whatever I can offer until the day those who I help can establish a great and professional team around them and no longer require my input. For now, I offer them my amateur writings and hope it helps them on their journey to reach their goals. My reward is simply enjoying doing this whilst it lasts and getting a glimpse into a career that I wish I pursued as a young lad. However, I am very keen to improve so feedback, help and advice is always welcome. If I could make a living from doing this, doing what I love, whether it’s writing articles, or reviewing cars, I absolutely would choose this life. I’m passionate about cars and have been since my earliest memories, but alas those opportunities to cut my cloth in the automotive industry are far behind me. But just having a peak into that world as an outsider means a lot to me, so I’m very grateful for Jim and Alex for that, as well as being grateful to Will for the opportunity to talk Tesla’s on his channel, and to Team CtrAltRefuel for entrusting me to provide a little content on their new website. To everyone above, thank you for the opportunities to put myself way out of my comfort zone and be judged by everyone that reads and sees my work. It’s humbling. Now, here’s my take on the amazing Volkswagen ID. Polo GTi notaguru.co.uk/blog/the-all-n…

Le Frog is going back this morning. I feel really upset that I have to give my little friend back. He’s been such a laugh to hang out with, we had a great time eating, drinking, laughing and heck even hugging. G’bye Shaarls 🙋‍♂️ (I’m not crying you are)

@KateFantom @AutoPap How good are warranties of all descriptions, we used to give after market warranties but we now just give our own.

@AutoPap To be fair, these ain’t that bad. I’ve had a few Chinese EVs with the same warranty cover but not needed it. Meanwhile, you’ll 100% need your JLR warranty if you buy one. They are now, sadly, utter tosh.

Before you buy a "cheap" car, do read about the cheap warranty too.
Lawrence Whittaker@ListerLawrence

Yesterday I posted about the Temu Range Rover, and a lot of you replied about issues you’ve been having with Jaecoo too. So I took the liberty of reading the warranty document of Britain’s best selling car, as I'd heard they had a 7 year warranty. Prudent, since we will be covering them one day, well that day is sooner than I thought! Whilst they do advertise a 7 year 100,000 mile warranty and some parts are covered under this, many parts are only warranted for 3 years or just 40,000 miles! These include: • A/C Compressor. • Alternator. • Ball Joint(s). • Brake Caliper. • Catalytic Converter. • Dashboard Upholstery and Trims (wear & tear). • Infotainment Unit. • Exhaust System. • Fuel Injector(s). • Fuel Pump. • Oil Pump. • Seat Upholstery (wear & tear). • Shock Absorber(s). • Starter Motor. • Steering Wheel Upholstery (wear & tear). • Timing Belt. • Track Rod End. • Water Pump. • Wheel Bearing. • Window Regulator. Worse still, the remote control key is only covered for 1 year or 20,000 miles, and if you are using the car as an Uber, Taxi, Courier or Driving School the main warranty limits are reduced further. It's been a long time since i've seen any manufacturer offer warranty cover only for the first 40,000 miles, in fact I can't remember any. I know these cars are cheap, but perhaps that is for a reason...?
