The once beautiful well looked after suburb has been turned into a slump, where drugs are freely available in every street corner without any intervention from the police. It is alleged by residents who are still living in the area, that some police stationed at the Sunnyside police station are on the payroll of these drug cartels. That is why nothing is happening to these drugs lords. Residents of the area claims that almost all buildings are highjacked by undocumented foreigners, and that the most horrible things are taking place in these buildings. There are brothels where young women, including children, are exploited and forced into them being used as drug runners. Activists and Citizens Forum expresses its disgust that an entire suburb can be taken over by a bunch of undocumented foreigners. More disgusting and disgraceful for that matter is that this happens in the Capital City of our country. Sunnyside is a few meters away from the Union Buildings where the country's President and his administration are housed.
