@thewragger @TommyBanks8 End user price could come down it helps the business as the products the restaurant are selling are cheaper (more attractive) to the consumer without effecting bottom line. Don’t even get me started on duty.

@MountVineyard @TommyBanks8 Thats true of many businesses but if VAT comes down then end user price should come down. Will this happen? If so it doesnt help the business I suspect theres some confusion between accounting and cashflow, understandable and very considerable.

@thewragger @TommyBanks8 Problem is that a lot of input costs with food are not vatable and yet once put on a plate without anything else to take into account there is an immediate 20% increase in cost to the end consumer. In Germany standard vat rate 19% but hospitality 7%. There is a reason for this.

VAT on alcohol has always been 20% throughout the entire pandemic so whilst I strongly believe the move from 12.5% on food should have been delayed am not sure the price of beer going up is because of the VAT. #gmb

@shawscorner Thanks for getting in touch- the restaurant is closed until 4th July however we are offering a picnic and takeaway service - if you would like a picnic these need to be pre-ordered 24 hours in advance but pizzas and drinks can be booked just 15 mins before you want to collect.
