Good morning Tshwane. Today, we are arming our workforce with tools of the trade. We are handing over handover the first batch of over 450 pieces of horticultural equipment to further accelerate service delivery throughout our city. This equipment will be distributed across our 7 regions to accelerate horticultural services such as grass cutting across public areas and our cemeteries. @CityTshwane

The General Law Amendment Act, 1963, allowed for the detention of a person suspected of a politically motivated crime for up to 90 days without a warrant or legal counsel. This meant the state could hold individuals indefinitely, as a person could be released and immediately re-arrested. Ruth First was the first white woman to be held under this law after her 1963 arrest, spending 117 days in solitary confinement in total. Image Source: Friday Times
