A 33-year-old foreign national former employee of a hardware store has been arrested for allegedly defrauding his employer of more than R600,000. The suspect was apprehended in the Makhado policing area after the Polokwane High Court issued a warrant of arrest. According to police, the suspect allegedly generated fraudulent invoices for customers in August 2024 while employed at the store. Payments made by customers were reportedly diverted for personal use instead of being deposited into the business account. Investigations have revealed at least 26 suspected fraudulent transactions, with an estimated value exceeding R600,000. The suspect is expected to appear before the Bolobedu Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 07 April 2026, facing charges of fraud.

@Tina_Hokwana If his tax bill is 44 million that means he earned 88-90 mil in highest tax bracket . Additionally, Lucky worked at govt institution which paid income tax on his behalf .So this 44 mil is over and above his earnings. Something is not adding up or these SARs penalties are crazy.
