Rush Album Ranking from Worst to Best #13: Caress Of Steel (1975) This is probably my first semi-hot take of the ranking: This is my least favorite album of the classic era of Rush and it always has been. I’m like Paul Stanley when Rush first played this album for him while they were on tour together…I just don’t get it😂 It’s mostly because of the 2 long pieces. I’m sorry, but I don’t need to hear about the guys goofy mugs invading the Tolkien universe. It’s weird and not worth the time!😂 I Think I’m Going Bald is a STUPID song!😂 I know it’s tongue in cheek, but it’s just not a good song IMO. Now, Bastille Day is a FUCKIN RIPPER! One of the best riffs Alex ever wrote! And I LOVE the ballad Lakeside Park. Such a beautiful song with great lyrics and a great message! Those two songs save this album and give it more worth than it deserves. The dudes in the band don’t even remember making this album. And half the time, I don’t remember why I listen to it😂

@MrAllyJam Because they might think they are. We all think different things are beautiful. I mean a lot of catwalk models for example might not look conventionally beautiful but are models 😉

Why do people have to insist that some other people are beautiful looking when they are clearly not? I know I’m not and lots and lots of other people are not. It’s ok not to be beautiful. I guess it is in the eye of the beholder or lies to make others and themselves feel good

@SkaKnight I’m going on the speed it was done, rumours but mainly most of the lyrics. To me they are Bon’s lyrics. They still pay royalties to his family. It’s still a fantastic album and Johnson does a remarkable job in difficult circumstances.

@MrAllyJam I'm genuinely convinced of it. I don't think BJ and brothers A & M would have consistently said it wasn't Bon Scott if it just wasn't true. I've heard Johnson himself talking about it - if it wasn't true he's a good actor and a total liar! :)

@MrAllyJam Nah mate. In overall circumstances & timeframe that it written, recorded & released, I think that album is fucking mindblowing. To do something that good, at that speed in those circumstances is unbelievable. But it was all Johnson :) That said Powerage is STILL my favourite :)
