@NAEmmanuele Please also consider, if you haven’t already, your school librarian or local public librarian as a resource. These folks are sometimes forgotten about.

We’re working on a #Jewish & #Holocaust Literature elective. Does anyone have the title of an anthology that provides a range of texts through history? We’ll do some full texts, but I was hoping for a collection, too—I’m having trouble finding a Jewish Lit anthology. #NCTEchat

@PottstownNews Correct, I was just trying to tiptoe around putting candidates on blast after I heard them talk about holding the line on spending and no tax increases

A tax increase is not necessarily the antithesis of fiscal responsibility.
Mr. Arms@MrArmsECE

@PottstownNews All I will say is, it’s interesting to hear candidates campaign at the polls about fiscal responsibility and taxes and then vote for a tax increase

@PottstownNews In my experience Evan has always reported in an unbiased manner, just the facts. He asks pertinent questions and does his homework. And I won’t get into a back and forth on this, I was the subject/part of multiple articles he wrote.

How could you possibly know, “for a fact,” how I feel about a person when we’ve never met, at least to my knowledge?

Working on a story about the twin house fire on Hale Street this morning across the street from last May’s home explosion as well as the stabbing incident on York Street. So glad to be back …

Cathy Paretti, who voted against building a new municipal complex on protected open space, is no longer the vice president of the Upper Pottsgrove Commissioners. Hank Llewellyn, who voted in favor of that project, has replaced her. The vote was unanimous.

@PottstownNews If it wasn’t for you researching, attending and reporting local govt would go completely unchecked. And yes, I mean YOU, not just any journalist. Damn lucky to have you informing us.

Boyertown Schools Solicitor Jeff Sultanik says district he lives in in Montgomery County, spent $900,000 on right-to-know" requests. "At what point does it become harassment?" asks Brophy. Sultanik says there is no legal remedy under state law "to address that situation."

@PottstownNews Thank god you do the work you do, I truly appreciate your reporting and investigating to find info that should have just been put on the agenda anyway…it honestly makes me wonder if the board even knows what the raises were…

It says nothing about raises. It says this: "Approval of the ACT 93 salaries per the Administrative Compensation Plan is recommended at this time. The effective date is December 1, 2021" If I'm a member of the public and I assume raises, 1% may be fine, 20% excessive.

Been round this track a couple times. When they're approving a list of 35 teachers getting money 4 supplemental jobs, part of the agenda. When its 4 administrators, always oddly missing. When the hypocrisy is pointed out, I get "we'll do it next time." But it never happens.

@PottstownNews While I can’t speak for the rest of the board I will personally say that the library will NOT be closing its doors. As with every nonprofit we face budget cuts, in our case from West and Upper Pottsgrove but continue to provide valuable services to the community.

"We could end up closing the library, and I don't say that lightly," says Chang, "very possible with budget cuts and pandemic." "I will do my very best to make sure that does not happen," she says. "Thanks borough for support. "It doesn't go unnoticed."

@PottstownNews @RepHoulahan @MercuryX Really? We know there was learning loss so we are going to throw money and resources at it to create a report? I get some of it, but is it necessary? How about moving forward with resources to address all the educational inequalities across the US?

@PottstownNews Why is this stuff always such a secret? It’s not just New Hanover, it’s almost every local government organization from school boards to municipalities. I wanted all personnel actions to be voted on by council and was shot down by the then manager and president. TRANSPARENCY
