Delighted to have been appointed permanent history and modern studies teacher at Douglas Academy. Bittersweet leaving Oban High School but looking forward to the next step in my career!

Today S3 Modern Studies pupils were the newest employees of ‘The Arkham Asylum’. They got to examine patient records and pinpoint the cause of crimes. The lesson ended with an in-depth discussion on the nature vs nurture debate. 🚔👮🏻 Thank you to @MissGrenfell_MS and @MissCraigMod for sharing resources. The pupils from @Greenfaulds_HS loved it!

March 1933 The Enabling Act becomes law in Germany, giving the chief executive power enforce his own laws without checks and balances. The passing of the Act marked the formal transition from democratic republic to totalitarian dictatorship. 6 months later, it was a 1 party state
