Today @MrChwi took our students on a hunt to pick up & sort different forms of waste (trash, recycling & compost) at school or home.
It was a hands on way to challenge scholars to learn how to properly recycle & compost while also beautifying our campus 🤗#GoBulldogs #GoGreen ♻️

Its a #FeetUpFriday on a Tuesday kind of week. First day of school in my first year as an Assistant Principal in the middle of a pandemic: DONE. (now excuse me while I sanitize everything repeatedly)

@MsSyed13 @alezamarie @CoachD_HarrisPE @AnaDwiggins @rsrowpro @cdollarphoto These are amazing. This is me and my little brother circa 96, I’m guessing? Obviously, we were not to be trifled with. #tbt

😍 I love these pictures!!! This is me in PreK! I would never go anywhere without my “Tickle Me Elmo,” and I loved playing parachute in PE. Although, I was never good at running all the way across in time 😅 #TBT #ChildhoodMemories

So I suppose I’ll play.. this is me, about 6, bringing the same energy as usual into any school environment I can find! #AISDHomeNotAlone

@UTLonghorns96 Don’t worry. Remember that good leaders “go slow, to go fast.” ;-)

Have to leave my mark at @EMHSAustinISD - this #CCMR bulletin board may be my greatest creative achievement 😂

@TSBVI_AFierro @LeBon_Voyage I think so. But I think sometimes there’s less room for flexibility in those areas. On the other hand, as noted in the example from Healy Elementary, saving $2 on every student in a school with hundreds of students adds up (Desravines, 2016).
English

@MrChwi @LeBon_Voyage @MrChwi I think teachers often think of the budget in terms of purchasing materials but it seems that staffing is one of the largest chunks. Has this been true in your experiences? #TPLA

Welcome to our November 14th #TPLA Twitter Chat! 2.We will discuss connections between the readings and our work as Practitioners. We will use Q# to format questions. You will use A# to format answers.

@MsEdsonsKiddos @LeBon_Voyage (2/2) However, there is something to be said for having the ability to not have to be involved in too many decisions when teachers already have a great deal on their plate. In addition, we want to avoid creating a “too many cooks in the kitchen” type of situation. #TPLA
English

@MsEdsonsKiddos @LeBon_Voyage (1/2) Wow, great question! I think yes and no. Teachers should definitely have a say in how school operations are running, especially with regard to areas such as matter scheduling that affect their every day...
English

@vmota_MEd @Crod628 @LeBon_Voyage Thinking about the question posed by @MsEdsonsKiddos I wonder if there are some areas of operations that you would consider less necessary to discuss with staff. Or do you think it is all fair game for teacher input? #TPLA
English

@LeBon_Voyage @BalicAlison reiterated the importance of incorporating intervention time in the master schedule. As usual, she is spot on with this reflection. It’s easy to talk about re-teach time but, in my experience, it’s not always proactively built into teachers’ schedules. #TPLA
English

Q6: What is one TANGIBLE element you have taken from tonight’s session? #TPLA
English

@Crod628 @LeBon_Voyage Even when you delegate though, it often feels like there’s never enough time in the day. Are there any specific tools or apps you personally use for scheduling your own time? #TPLA
English

@LeBon_Voyage A4 (2/2): Principles that are able to delegate responsibilities, and manage/prioritize their time are the most effective. #TPLA
English

@TSBVI_AFierro @LeBon_Voyage Sounds like you are really taking a page from the Dr. Gideon handbook—don’t have meetings to give information you could send in an email. When you take this approach people actually start to look forward to meetings and the learning that will be shared during them. #TPLA
English

@LeBon_Voyage A3: about how to increase instructional time by increasing the number of related services provided in a push-in rather than pull-out model. I have also thought of ways to maximize PLC time for teachers by using meetings to dialogue rather than disseminate information. 2/2 #TPLA
English

@MsPFuentes @LeBon_Voyage Agreed. But people have differing views on what is high needs to them. Where would YOU start? #TPLA
English

@LeBon_Voyage A3: The master schedule is the backbones to student achievement. Starting with the areas of high needs to be the foundation of the schedule and building around that will set teachers and students up for success. #TPLA
