The biggest difference I’ve noticed since changing roles is how fewer emails I get and I’m not sure I’ll get used to it! Gone are the days of 30+ emails and 50+ CPOMS notifications - I’ve had one email since Friday evening and it feels weird! #refreshing #lessbusymind

Last week we introduced #yondr pouches at our school and I think it’s single-handedly the best thing we’ve ever done! 🙌 The kids have fully embraced it, even some of our most tricky characters, and there hasn’t been anywhere near as much backlash as I’d thought! #phonefree

Love that #educatingyorkshire is back! Having watched the first series whilst 18 and feeling a bit lost, it feels pertinent to be watching the new series the night before my first day as a teacher! 👨‍🏫

Culture day complete; slightly bizarre attending as I already work at the school but it was interesting to see things from the ‘other side’ and meet all my new colleagues. Two days of inset next week and then the fun begins on Wednesday 💪

The classroom chronicles continues…attempt 1 and 2 both looked awful but the unsung heroes (the site team) squeezed in some time to paint for me! Current classroom set up - not quite finished but so happy with how it’s coming along! Next, plants! 🪴 #teacherlife #newclassroom

@Michael_S_Green My plan is to put coloured backing paper on top but not over the whole lot and then border it. I’ve spoken to site team & they may be able to just paint straight onto the felt boards which would be a win!

Day 1 of sorting out the new classroom - still lots to do but slowly making headway. Rearranged the teacher desk, put up some displays, half sorted the bookshelf, removed redundant furniture and threw lots away! We go again tomorrow 💪 #newclassroom #teacherlife #summersortout
