If Spirit’s creditors or other potential investors don’t think they can run it profitably coming out of its second bankruptcy in under two years, I doubt the US Government can either. Not the best use of taxpayer dollars.

Ukrainian officials are considering a controversial idea: naming a proposed demilitarized zone in the eastern Donbas region after President Trump: “Donnyland,” in an effort to draw stronger U.S. backing for any future peace deal. @aidan_stretch reports.

The Trump administration is in advanced discussions with budget carrier Spirit Airlines over a bail out worth up to $500 million. In exchange, the government would get warrants that would allow a potentially substantial ownership stake in the airline. cbsn.ws/3QTILn0

SCOOP: The Trump administration and Spirit Airlines are nearing a deal where the U.S. government would put up to $500 million into Spirit Airlines stock warrants to try to save the company, leading to a potential significant stake in the company. Trump says he'll give some kind of financial bailout to the UAE, because he found it "shocking" they were hit so hard; he thought Iran would only try to strike Israel. (So in other words, there was instant escalation beyond what he anticipated, and now the US will foot the bill)

To those who wanted war with Iran, you won. You got your war. But you don’t get to cherry pick its results . You have to answer for ALL of its consequences, not just the positive outcomes (of which there are some).

Trump's White House Faith Office advisor Paula White: Trump has been raised up by God because God says that he raises up people and places them in positions of authority. It is God that raises up a king. When you fight against the plan of God you're fighting against the hand of God

Hassett: "The golden age is that President Trump promised is starting to be very visible"

“Somebody shorted the oil markets today by hundreds of millions of dollars exactly 20 minutes before Trump made his announcement that everything was going to be great. And if you see that once, it could be a coincidence. But that’s happened at least three times, if not more, since the war began. That’s a pattern.” “And what that suggests is that there’s rampant corruption and insider self-dealing going on with the president’s up and down predictions of what’s going to happen tomorrow in the negotiations and in the markets. And I’m sure that that’s being investigated. We can’t prove it, but it seems like the corruption that we’re seeing in our government, maybe not the President, but people who are in the know and the markets, is having a priority over the actual negotiations to end the war. And that’s a crazy thing that our system has never seen before.”

To state the obvious (but being forgotten by many), we didn’t need to go to war to open the Strait of Hormuz. It was already open. To claim this outcome as a war achievement is paradoxical.

LEAVITT: One final announcement. President Trump and the Department of Interior will submit plans for the US Triumphal Arch. It will be 250 feet tall in honor of 250 years. Long after everyone in this room is gone, our children and grandchildren will remain inspired by this.
