In light of Alec Pierce agreeing to a four-year, $116 million deal to stay with the Colts, it seems like a great time to bring back this tweet. At least one team had doubts about Pierce when he was coming out of Cincinnati. That team does not reside in Indianapolis.

A NFL scout spoke with me about Alec Pierce at Cincinnati's pro day. The scout questioned Pierce's athleticism and Pierce's ability to create separation. I told the scout Pierce is elite in both categories, and that his film should support that. The scout wasn't sold. Welp.

Cincinnati's Baba Miller is starting to gain real traction on NBA draft boards. While eyes were fixated on possible No. 1 pick AJ Dybantsa last night, Miller had his 3rd 15-10-5 (15 Pts, 12 Reb, 5 Ast) game of the season, the most by a Cincinnati player over the past 30 seasons.

Cincinnati's 16-point win (84-68) at No. 8 Kansas is the Bearcats' first double-digit road victory vs. an AP top-10 team in school history. It's also the largest by an unranked team at Allen Fieldhouse since Iowa State won by 24 (89-65) on March 10, 1973.

Bengals director of player personnel Duke Tobin spoke for more than an hour today. I'm not sure these words will land well with the fan base. Cincinnati clearly has elite, championship-caliber players (Joe Burrow, Ja'Marr Chase, Tee Higgins), but a championship-caliber team?

@tsnmike Yeah. The move to the Big 12 was obviously a huge factor. Cunningham needed to lock down the right people to lead Cincinnati into a new era. He put the fate of the athletic department in the hands of Wes Miller and Scott Satterfield. As of January 2026, that has not worked out.

@MrKeithJenkins This is how programs get themselves into trouble. They’re so worried about losing a coach because of subsequent success. how about having the success first and then rewarding it? The irony is Cincinnati had success, didn’t think it was enough and blew its chance to lock that down
