@CoachRMcDonald @MSHSL I’m absolutely torn between The Barn and Target Center. Parking at TC is much more convenient but it’s just a bit too spacious for my liking to be a championship arena. But it also depends on the teams playing too. I like the atmosphere better at Williams but parking can suck.

My @MSHSL Wishlist for the State Boys Basketball Tournament:
1. First Rounds hosted at St. Thomas/Anderson Arena. Smaller venue/better atmosphere.
2. Consolation Rounds at St. Thomas/Schoenecker Arena. Keep everything on same campus.
3. Championship Saturday at Target Center!

@CoachDre3000 So you’re saying 4A should be larger than 64 teams? I also argue some schools have no business being in 4A when you factor in facilities/free & reduced etc. But we’re in agreement that another class should be added regardless. One can only dream and hope!

@MrLarsonERHS I’ve done a lot of work analyzing another class & I actually think adding a class between AAA/AA is right. You’d shift up the large private, public & open enrollment schools in AAA up to AAAA & same for AA to AAA.

I’ve stopped the narrow focus of private vs public. Instead are “like” schools competing against each other.

3. Activities/Athletic Offered
4. Facilities
5. Education Opportunities
6. Administration
The gap is too wide in AA/AAA imo

The private school thing is always weird... there is no awesome answer. ~14% of schools are private schools. 50% of the teams in AA / AAA state are private. I think teams that qualify for state year after year moving up using a formula is the best of the bad solutions.
