Time to buy UK bonds, they are issuing a hawkish statement to avoid the tail risk that markets lose confidence in the BoEs commitment to the 2% inflation target The UK economy is too weak to withstand interest rate hikes & the committee is unlikely to raise rates this year.

Post-BoE thoughts...if they don't cut in Apr, it looks like they won't cut this year...amplifying a negative demand shock...we have a policy mistake on our hands...

Big plot twist for the ECB; yes their forecasts might be out of date, but the HICP fcts are reasonably punchy for 2026 ... smart move; the big question though is; why not tighten? They see materially higher inflation and only a modest hit to growth, but overall ... trying to get ahead of the curve, which is commendable.

How the heck can BoE turn hawkish? Does switching off the economy stop the prices of imports from going up?
