I’ve been inconsistent for a while. because I didn’t treat it like something that could change my life. That ends now. I’m rebuilding from scratch: • My communication • My discipline • My presence online I’m focusing on one platform: x I’ll be sharing what I learn about: – Communication – Persuasion – Growth – Becoming someone people actually listen to If you’re also trying to level up your life, Follow along. Let’s build properly this time.

Building a personal brand alongside your business is not vanity. It is one of the smartest things I unintentionally started doing years ago. When I began sharing my journey online, I honestly was not thinking deeply about “personal branding”. I was simply documenting growth, sharing lessons from video editing, creativity, faith, and the realities of building something meaningful from scratch. Over time, something interesting happened. People stopped connecting only with the work. They started connecting with me. That was one of the things that made ELAPS possible. Not just skill. Not just content. Trust. People support people they feel connected to. A business page can grow. A company can become known. But human connection travels deeper and lasts longer. Platforms may change. Algorithms may reduce reach. Trends may fade. But when people trust your voice, your consistency, and your perspective, you carry your audience with you wherever you go. That is not vanity. That is leverage.

While preparing for my mum’s burial next week, I remembered a particular event from my childhood that shaped the man I am today. I had just come to Gboko then. I think I was around six or seven years old. One Sunday during mass, I saw a group of boys come out dressed in white vestments. They carried the crucifix, candles, incense, bells, and all the sacred items used during the service. They moved with so much coordination around the priest during the mass. I was captivated. To me, they looked important, honoured, and deeply connected to God. The way everything happened once the Reverend Father moved fascinated me so much that after service, I could not rest again. I got home and told my mum, “I want to be like those boys.” She laughed and told me I was too small to join them. Omoh, I cried ehn 😅 No food. No peace. My mum finally decided to give it a try. After one early morning mass, she went to meet the president of the altar boys association and told him I wanted to join. They asked my age. She said seven. Immediately they said, “No, he has to be at least ten or eleven.” I refused to give up. Then they asked the final question that was supposed to disqualify me. “Has he done his baptismal classes and first communion?” I said no. They said that was the issue. But my mum stepped in immediately and said, “He will start catechism today. He will become a communicant, but let him join them and start learning.” That was how they accepted me. I became the smallest altar boy there 😅 To cut the story short, I wrote the exams and came out in third position. My first mass to serve was fixed for an early morning service. That night, I could not sleep. I was too excited. The next morning, I got dressed in my oversized vestment that was far bigger than my body. They had to fold it well and tie the girdle tightly so it would fit somehow 🤣 Then the bell rang. Everybody stood up. And the smallest thing appeared behind the altar carrying sacred items with serious concentration 😭😂 The priest was laughing. The congregation was laughing. People were shocked seeing such a tiny altar boy trying to act serious. It was honestly embarrassing. But me, I was too focused on serving to even notice what was happening around me. Looking back now, I realize that moment ignited something in me spiritually. It shaped my zeal for God, service, discipline, and commitment from a very young age. And honestly, imagine if I had a mother who constantly told me I was too small, too ambitious, or thinking too big. One conversation could have killed that passion before it even started. Parents, never underestimate what encouragement can do to a child. Sometimes the greatest gift you can give someone is believing in them before the world does. Mum, thank you for believing in me even when it looked unrealistic. May your soul continue to rest in peace ❤️
