‘Rising costs around the club’ ‘Supporters board has been clear that their wish was for a 2 year freeze’ The sort of thing that could be dealt with a number of different ways, and they choose to raise ticket prices. Fleecing the match going supporters to line their own pockets

Amidst many issues with the decision of LFC today, there is a claim in their release about Kop tickets not increasing under FSG’s ownership. It’s weird to say, because it’s just not true. Their release, 2017/18 prices and 2025/26 prices here…

For there to be protests, there needs to be a critical mass of supporters who are worried, angered, or who simply care about the direction of travel in the game. If too many people are apathetic, think nothing can be done (despite the evidence to the contrary) or worse, go into bat for Boston billionaires who are showing little regard for the culture or community around Liverpool’s support, then nothing will change. A multi-year pricing model is a test. If the overriding response is “ah well”, then Liverpool – and the rest of the Premier League – have effectively been given the green light to fill their boots for the next three years and beyond. And that’s where this leads: a slow but deliberate shift towards pricing out traditional supporters in favour of the highest spenders. It’s £1.2m over a year. It’s not being done because it needs to be done. It’s being done because they believe they can get away with it.

Like Christmas Day for thick people this isn’t it?
