You have some limitations but on the cloud island you are able to do a lot more than when in the story mode of the person hosting vis switch 2. I’m just grateful they are allowing game share to the switch 1 which prevents you from having to have two switch 2s and two copies of the game. Oh okay I heard the switch 1 player in the story mode gameshare has more limited functionality too. So you’re saying you can also game share to switch 1 players when on the cloud island and they have more functionality there? Thanks so much for clarifying haha it’s so hard when there’s not a lot of information out there on what they can and cannot do. You’ve been a great help

For those who may be struggling with gameshare in Pokopia. You need to make it across the bridge near Drifloon to the next town over where you will find a Pokémon center and a computer. Access this computer to unlock the ability to game share Pokopia from a Switch 2 to a Switch 1. Took us way longer than i want to admit to figure this out. Hope this helps! Happy hunting!

It pretty much plays similar to dragon quest, animal crossing or Minecraft. You both are able to craft, build and explore etc. As long as the main account whose hosting the game share is online it allows the game server to be open and for the person on the Switch 1 access and up to 4 players in total. The main limitations come when you game share into the story campaign side of things. Only the main Switch 2 account is able to progress the story and interact with a lot of the collectibles. This occurs to avoid sequence breaking. You have alot more free range when you both are playing a cloud island. Also keep in mind when you game share we have noticed the quality on the switch 1 is not as vibrant as the Switch 2 host. Also not all progress made by guests carry over to their own console and personal saved data. Hope this somewhat helps but we are also still testing stuff out as we were only able to test things for a few hours.
