Friday afternoon is always a highlight of my week. Especially when I’m working with students of Penryn College. The transformation in some of the students is remarkable. A key part of my job is looking after the SEMH of students. The orchard’s transformation is amazing too!🍎🌲

Another busy week of sport fixtures ahead! 😆 First school training session done tonight ✅ Over 130 students engaging with extra curricular football on a Tuesday night. Not bad for the first week back. Can wait to see these numbers increase over the coming weeks! 📈

🏋🏼WEIGHTLIFTING AND GYM WORK 🏋🏼 3 students from all years have been taking part in some confidence building exercises. The students have gone from not wanting to participate in physical activity to now visiting a public gym and exercising on a weekly basis.

⛵️LEANT TO SAIL⛵️ 4 students from all year groups have learnt to sail and have even passed their RYA level 1 certificate. This is an amazing achievement for all the students involved as none of them had sailed previously.

🌲 BUILT A SURVIVAL SHELTER 🌲 One year 8 student put his forest school skills to the test and built a survival shelter from resources found around the school. This included the use of saws and loppers. 😬

🌿 STARTED BUILDING A SCHOOL ALLOTMENT🌿 10 year 7’s and 10 year 8’s have been developing an existing plot of land into the new school allotment. The students have built raised beds, cleared debris, excavated soil and have all passed their wheelbarrow license.

@foxconstruction 🚲 SERVICED AND REPAIRED BIKES 🚲 8 students from all year groups have been servicing, repairing and restoring broken bicycles. This has been extremely successful with a number of students even completing a restoration of their own personal bike.

🪚 BUILT A SHED 🪚 Four year 10 students have been working extremely hard with local business @foxconstruction to build a shed. The students started with the foundations and have managed to get a block and timber stud wall in place ready to install the roof this term.
