@ScripeWoW As a liquid fan I was happy and gutted at the same time. Always want liquid to win, but 2 tiers in a row at a .01% wipe is crazy. But the race is peak when both guilds at that close to winning. For that I thank you.

@AgrivarDragon its not about being mad at the fact that its their IP or theyre trying to protect it, its about how ridiculous it is that some group of wackjobs somewhere in a basement making a private server fundamentally understand and develop the IP better than the actual owners.

Stormforge, a popular World of Warcraft private server, is shutting down. They received a cease-and-desist letter from Blizzard Entertainment. After talking with Blizzard’s lawyers, they agreed to stop everything by May 14, 2026. The servers will stay open until that date. You can still play your characters on realms like Frostmourne, Sheilun, and Netherwing. No new accounts or updates will be added. After May 14, the website and Discord will close too. This comes right after Blizzard won a court case against another big private server called TurtleWoW. Stormforge ran for more than four years. For many players, this is the end of a fun chapter in World of Warcraft.

After nearly 8 years online, fan-made Vanilla+ World of Warcraft private server Turtle WoW is shutting down.
The servers will go offline at midnight on May 15, 2026.
Donations have been turned off and the team is keeping support active until the final day.
A genuine end of an era for one of the most dedicated private server projects.

I hope Blizz figures a way to do diminishing returns for rwf guilds doing 20 characters for splits. I know this is an impossible ask without affecting the remaining player base… but not only was it miserable to watch, but I imagine the players did not have fun doing that.
