Now the dust has settled on OCR GCSE PE paper 1, what’s everyone’s thoughts? Big topics were PoT, cardioresp and skeletal system. Seemed straight forward but more questions requiring calculations than I remember previously and some wording was a little odd. #OCR #GCSEPE #Paper1

@OCR_Vocational Hi, can you confirm that if we started sports science R181 in 2022 Y10 we need to submit it in May 2023 Y10? Lots of people saying different things but I’m sure OCR webinars have stated work has to be moderated before assignment brief change. Thanks.

@TotalPESolution I get what you’re saying, I’ve been there. I’ve learnt that someone else could observe you who has a better understanding of the subject and not ask that question. If you believe your assessment process, hold fast and stay true. If not, change but not to please said person. 👍🏻

@RachSmith1987x @OCR_Vocational The examplar work which was released got pulled because it was wrong. This is why you can’t find it on Teach Cambridge right now. This is what we were told and they said new examplar work is being released it Jan. We’ve just got the kids started and hoping for the best.

@OCR_Vocational Could someone please explain why the exemplar Sport Science work for unit 2 principles of training doesn’t actually match the task sheet. I believe this has been released incorrectly? Is there a new exemplar piece of work which is correct?

@crulePE Templates❌. Break up section A into sub sections = more manageable for pupils. Break up each sub section and section into time frames. Analyse sample piece of work with class before starting. Get them to make notes. Encourage them to use class notes/revision guides. Skills spec.

@MrAylesPE This year we’ve started with a small block of work on OAA for all year groups. Lessons range from team building, problem solving and orienteering all on site.

@Grant_Oz5 If they only have 1 sport and need 2 more, I tend to always go with handball and table tennis/badminton as we teach these from Y7. If they have no sports at all then I assess as much as possible and simply pick the best 3.

@MrThompsonPE1 @Betts_PE @MickTho47277587 @SeanProctor4 It would make sense to complete tests for every CoF, then using your results, choose the 2 CoF you would improve for both of your sports.

@Betts_PE @MickTho47277587 @SeanProctor4 Just wondered how you guys are getting on with the new CNAT sports science spec if you are doing it/leading on it etc. Seems to be a lack of resources compared to other CNAT subjects, in particular example assignment work/WAGOLL.

@MrSJBPE @Betts_PE @MickTho47277587 @SeanProctor4 Reading this again and I’m even more confused TBH. There are 10 CoF on the spec, not 10 fitness tests. Do you think she meant this instead? Also other CNAT courses have examplar work and they’re new too, not a good enough reason really. How do you interpret it?

@Rdq_7 @Betts_PE @MickTho47277587 @SeanProctor4 I looked yesterday and could only find example set assignments. There is no examplar work of a MB1 or MB3 piece of work like there is for the old spec but I know H&S care do have theirs.
