@detroitsux @shagbark_hick "I know some families who aren't doing it properly therefore it's bad". Fucking absurd logic. The data is overwhelmingily clear that homechooling works (the parents who do it tend to be waaaaay more motivated) and kids avoid the urban leftwing zoos known as schools.

@shagbark_hick This argument is so funny to me when 2/3 of Michigan kids aren’t proficient in reading or math and standards have never been lower to begin with. What should happen to trillion dollar taxpayer funded systems that are failing children on a mass scale?

Look, pro-homeschooling people are piling on this guy but he's not wrong at all.
I know of families who are straight-up failing to teach their children beyond a 2nd-grade education. Like 16-year-old kids who don't know what the Capital of the US is, have never heard of Toronto, and could not perform a basic algebra problem.
While it's true that there are many excellent homeschooling families whose instruction far exceeds that of any public school, the fact is that the American system of "school your kids however you want" does also yield a lot of severely stunted kids who get stuck playing "catch-up" for the rest of their lives.
My wife was homeschooled, we might homeschool, I'm not averse to the practice per se, but it's a fact that there's a whole world of multi-generational homeschoolers who are not and will not rise above a 2nd or 3rd grade education level by their own volition.
Should the state intervene in these cases? I dunno, the answer to the question is not as "easy" as many make it out to be. The idea of barely getting through 'Mary Had a Little Lamb' at the age of 16 should be appalling, and it IS happening in some American homeschooler families.

Do Homeschool kids just like, not have to take tests or exams or get grades? How does the government know if the child is actually getting an education and not just like, being neglected

Faux empowerment tuneless music to appeal to fat women addicted to shopping with Klarna.
LIZZO@lizzo
This song is dedicated to the women who get called a bitch for having boundaries, for being sexual, for speaking up for themselves, for working hard and owning businesses… If we don’t smile and perform all the time we’re “ungrateful” If we run a strict program we’re “mean” If we enjoy sex we’re “sluts” and shamed This WOMANIFESTO is a declaration of independence from the bullsh*t It’s a B!TCH summer

@RealOneRebecca Yeah, people can be horrific (the scammers especially). In my case, the issue concerned books being late and damaged but still, the company was caught lying about my order and I wanted to write a big lovely report about it.

@Mr_B_OB I got FB stalked by a mechanic because of a bad review. This MF told us my son’s car’s engine needed to be replaced. A whole engine! We took it for a second opinion, $450 later it was working perfectly. 👀 so after the HONEST review, the owner of the shop started spamming me. 🙄

@Mr_B_OB People call this “egg mayonnaise” ?? I thought it was just egg salad lol. It’s funny to call it egg mayo bc mayo is eggs already
English

@steveetienne3 Nice!
Diced spring onion is good added to it for something a little different. I've been liking brioche bread recently too -- the slight sweetness adds a little counter to the creamy, savoury, tangness of the egg mayo.
English

@Mr_B_OB God I adore egg mayonnaise. I always make my own mayonnaise, like mine with chopped chives and some really strong Cheddar.
