If anyone fancies a few quid off their Union subs try this..£30 off any subscription. I've been with them for a couple of years, haven't had to use them, but have had colleagues who have and speak highly of them. Use ref: REFBQBXYNKP3D @edaptuk

Can anyone recommend a website/company like PE classroom that provides theory resources specific to WJEC Alevel PE? (PE Classroom don't do WJEC) TIA

Table Ball is so much fun to play. Combines the activities of tennis, volleyball & ping pong. If you have tables, it’s a must add to your curriculum! #physed

Looking at developing action capabilities for forearm in tennis with year 7. It's not the same, but it does allow students to explore opportunities to organise their body to open to play a forearm Stoke. Points were scored for stroking the ball back in one motion.

@Cambs_PE @JoeH_PE But there's nothing that you're aware of as a regulation that a non-grass surface should be in place on a new facility?

Looking for advice! A friend of mine works at a school who have a new build and has discovered that it was thought wise to have a grass run up to their jump pit.I've never known of a grass run up in any school I have worked in or visited and can only see it as a h&s risk at best.

@Cambs_PE @JoeH_PE I do this, but to build confidence in technique with a shorter run up. When developing into competitive performance especially with KS4, I'd be reluctant to let them go full throttle and lose their footing. If nothing else it would be nice to have the option at least.

@Mr_HuttonPE @JoeH_PE This was a TJ lesson I taught on grass (to get maximal participation & differentiation). Ideally the pit would be far wider, but I would have hated teaching on the single lane run-up. Further more I would prefer teaching LJ from grass than from a rutted gravel / redgras runway

@Cambs_PE @JoeH_PE It had been labelled as a 3 lane run up. We were thinking that the issue would be slipping on the grass. Sprinting towards the pit with trainers on wouldn't be safe 🤷‍♂️

@Mr_HuttonPE @JoeH_PE If it’s well maintained it should not be a problem - in many respects it could be conducive to good practice rather than a single runway with loads of queuing .

They've contacted Baalpe and they won't provide advice without them getting a membership. So has anyone got any experience of something like this at their school and could advise?

Self-talk and attentional cues… Athletes can learn to take charge of their mindset through simple mental skills that enable them to execute actions with: -attention (focus on task) -intensity (alert, energised, and ready) -intent (positive execution of actions) Tiny 🧵👇🏻
