@richar32032 @MissRCarr9 6 weeks is a ludicrously long break from work. Maybe I'm 'old scholl' but I find it hard to believe a day can't be found to get a classroom ready for the year ahead. Very familiar with limiting cognitive load and the unnecessary time displays take

@MissRCarr9 Throw it away. One of the absolute joys of being an NQT was getting my first classroom and setting it up. With a window of 6 weeks to get it done, I think it a a real shame if people see this as a negative experience.

The EduTwitter of 5 years ago is so long gone it’s sad. It really is just ‘person gives a very passionate position’ and their followers all agree. If anyone disagrees they are lambasted. @Mr_Keyte and I called it years ago on a podcast but EduTwitter doesn’t really exist now.

@thatteacherguy_ I imagine something like a 2 year on the job SCITT without a degree requirement

@Mr_Keyte I would imagine so. But they’ll also have to make training much quicker and much better paid to entice those numbers and hit that target in anything shorter than 4-6 years id imagine.

Where exactly are Labour just getting 6,500 teachers from when they take years to train and fewer people are entering training programmes? I’m genuinely confused.
