@jphipps88 Makes me sick. In control for 40 minutes then end up losing by 7?? Too many stupid losses this year with the expectations this team has built. Bulls game too

@Sanjit__T Don’t know if true or not but I remember hearing he was a notary and would notarize nfl contract signings in the past. So he was involved with the league in that regard and must have just picked up sources along the way.. that’s what I’ve thought true for the past couple years

Jalen Green is playing outstanding defense this season. His 104.3 defensive rating is best on the team among rotation players. Curiously, Brooks has the worst defensive rating on the team.

@StephenPG3 @easymoneyyMo I heard you mention roster/cap flexibility aspect. If hard decision(s) made on roster, HH’s value relative to salary will be huge Both HH/Amir are career 40%+ from corners too (407/.41),which Dunn and Fleming can’t give them now HH a better/polished version of Dunn for this run

I would bet a car payment Murray gets cut
Chris Kouffman@ckparrot

One detail makes for two very different situations. On 3/15 another $19.5 mil of Murray’s contract guaranteed. Arizona will need to find their solution before, and cutting becomes the most rational way the game theory plays out. Miami isn’t faced with the same dilemma. Their situation is more akin to Atlanta’s with Kirk Cousins last year, when everyone insisted Atlanta would cut Cousins if they couldn’t find a trade but the reality was that if the Falcons couldn’t find a trade the details pointed to keeping him on as a QB2. Back to the Cardinals and Kyler Murray, that $19.5 mil of additional guarantee is a millstone hanging around Arizona’s neck. If they trade Murray before it activates, the new team would have to foot the bill for this new $19.5 mil of guarantees in 2027 in addition to whatever portion of the $36.8 mil guarantee in 2026 they agree to take on. Is there a team really willing to do that at this point in Kyler’s career? The temptation will be too great to just play hard ball with the Cardinals, force them to cut Murray to avoid guaranteeing him yet another $19.5 mil in 2027, and then when Kyler is a free agent you can sign him to a Russell Wilson minimum deal knowing Arizona is forced to pay Kyler the remainder of that $36.8 mil guaranteed. So the Arizona situation is very much like what the Texans faced when they traded Brock Osweiler, and/or how the NBA operates. If they want the financial relief on their guarantees, they’re going to have to pay for it with draft compensation. Miami on the other hand maintains the leverage that keeping Tua on roster for 2026 as a backup to Malik Willis is a very real possibility. If teams collectively tell Miami that they refuse to give the Dolphins ANY relief, not even an established QB2’s honest wages, then Miami would be forced to pay nearly all of that $54 mil should they cut him. And why would they do that? Cutting an established QB starter who could at the very least serve as a QB2 (since you’re already paying him either way)? They paid $6 mil for a QB2 last year. Others pay even more for established QB2’s. There’s no rationality to cutting Tua in that situation, unless you think Tua is such a “problem child” that you’re afraid of him burning the house down. But that is not, nor has ever been, in Tua’s nature. Much like Kirk Cousins. So there is a better chance of teams negotiating with Miami honestly, willing to give them some amount of financial relief depending on whether they value Tua as a QB2 or a QB1 or somewhere in between, because they can’t simply wait for Miami to cut Tua and then just pick him up for the veteran minimum. That’s not a viable alternative scenario.
