THE NDC AND ITS ‘419’ DECISION.
The decision of NDC to zone its Presidential ticket to the south for JUST ONE TERM (emphasis on ‘one term’) is an audacious attempt to hoodwink Nigerians. It reminds us of the undertaking by Jonathan in 2011 to serve just one full term and quit.
So, what happens if Peter Obi changes his Party, assuming he wins, or as leader of the NDC he gets the NEC of the Party to reverse the decision, if in the unlikely event he wins? This is an insult on the sensibilities of Nigerians; it smacks of outright desperation and actually accentuates the dilemma of the opposition a whole in the 2027 Presidential elections.
It is just a joke taken too far; it is nothing but political 419.

@aonanuga1956 Lol, so APC has plans for Nigeria? We've not suffered enough, if we did APC wouldn't still be here talking about other political parties.

Like ADC, the NDC has no plan for Nigeria yet
Out of sheer curiosity, I have twice in the last few days googled the website of the Nigeria Democratic Party (NDC), the party that the political wanderer Peter Obi and his ally, Rabiu Kwankwaso, sought shelter in after abandoning the ADC midstream.
I was interested in the party’s manifesto and whether it has enunciated a markedly different vision for the governance of Nigeria, one better than President Tinubu's and the APC’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
I was disappointed. Even though the site invited visitors to click on its manifesto to read it, the result was negative. “No document found" was the response I got each time I tried to download the manifesto. The party whose national leader, Senator Seriake Dickson, said would wage an ideological battle in the 2027 poll has not uploaded any manifesto since it was court-registered in February. What it flaunts are six policy nuggets that it characterised as pillars.
However, the nuggets don’t read like pillars. They sound more like the platitudes the party’s newest catch, Peter Obi, has bombarded the nation with in the last six years.
Senator Dickson, I look forward to your vision and mission for Nigeria, as your party appears to be the camp for the politically displaced and desperate.

Please, I’ve been searching for this old Nigerian movie on YouTube. Genevieve was from a rich home, and Pete Edochie was her father. He didn’t want her to marry Ramsey Nouah because he was from a poor background. Instead, he preferred Hank Anuku. Ramsey was later framed with a golden necklace, and Pete Edochie ordered his guards to bury him alive.
Please, does anyone remember the title of this movie?
Note: Gen Z, please stay out of this one 😂

Dear Nigerians,
Do you remember those ungrateful Labour Party lawmakers who won their elections riding on Obidient Wave, & later defected to the APC?
The ruling party has denied them their tickets. Like sore losers, they have crawled back to join the NDC. They hope to ride on Peter Obi’s popularity after betraying the Movement.
Now PAY ATTENTION!
Because below are the names of those very unfortunate lawmakers that rode on Obidient Wave & later decamped to the APC. They actually think that we are stupid? Now they will understand why we are called the Mob
There will be no top to bottom this time!
The Obidients will decide who will be in that National Assembly. There is no forgiveness in politics because lives are at stake. Hunger is involved. Families are involved. Joblessness is at stake. Japa is at stake. If it’s forgiveness you seek, you should visit the nearest church.
Those who abandoned Nigerians (at the point of our needs) to party & lounge with the Enemy, will be punished at the polls. We are not the devilish APC, we are not politicians either.
None of us is your slave. The names you see below will fail fantastically. Mark their names, the NDC should note that these are “Persona non grata,” they won’t have our votes this time. We don't want to associate with any of them.
We will use them as scapegoats to set a very big example. We are going to teach them the lesson of their lives. They will serve as perfect examples, a constant reminder to others that treachery won’t go unpunished. Those who work against Nigerians will receive their reward
We own you, you don’t own us. You are our servants & not the other round. NEVER AGAIN!

ANALYSIS: HOW TINUBU’S REFORMS TRIGGER HIGH REVENUE EARNINGS IN NIGERIA’S REAL SECTOR
We have followed with concern the bewildering polemics with which Nigeria’s political opposition is deliberately scandalising the public space to demean the economic reforms being implemented by the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led federal administration as ill-considered and inconsequential.
From our standpoint, we surmise that the opposition’s propagation of bellicose intent against the federal government's reforms lacks empirical validation and is generally pivoted on abysmal, commonplace, and sentimental generalisations.
Contrary to the frequent public espousal of reform failure by the opposition, our reading of the national economic trajectory since 2023 strongly indicates otherwise. While we acknowledge the inevitability of some challenges inherent in the implementation of any body of reform policies, we assert that the Tinubu policies have, in significant ways, accomplished the first purpose of a sovereign’s economic rejuvenation: the resuscitation and strengthening of the real sector of the economy.
Earning and Profitability Resurgence in the Real Sector
This speaks to the resurgence of revenue and profitability in privately managed companies, with far-reaching implications for Domestic Product (GDP), employment, poverty reduction, and wealth creation, leading to a state of general prosperity from now on.
Our affirmation of the recovery of the nation’s critical real sector is predicated on the framework of market reality, which represents the actual, current conditions of the marketplace, including consumer behaviour, competitor actions, and economic constraints, rather than the subsidy conditions prevalent during the years before the commencement of the implementation of the reform policies in 2023.
Our submission is corroborated by verifiable data that profiles the performance of quoted companies on the Nigerian Stock Exchange and artisanal enterprises in the informal sector.
The sweeping economic reforms that initially triggered economic volatility are now translating into stronger revenues and earnings for many firms. This impressive change in tides in both the top and bottom lines of companies in the nation’s real sector is enabled by improving macroeconomic conditions and a more stable foreign exchange market. These positive indicators have elevated the Naira to Africa’s second-best-performing currency against the dollar year-to-date.
To examine the observed performances, we took a sample of 20 blue-chip companies listed on the NGX. They earned N27.8 trillion in revenue in the 2025 financial year. This represents an increase of 28.7 per cent when compared to the N21.62 trillion reported in the corresponding period of 2024.
Highlights of Top Performers
Top performers on the list of high-revenue-generating companies include Guinness Nigeria Plc, which reported a profit after tax of N41 billion in its audited 18-month results ending on December 31, 2025, marking its first return to profitability since 2023.
MTN Nigeria Communications Plc delivered one of the most impressive turnarounds, posting a profit before tax of N1.7 trillion in 2025 compared to a N550.3 billion loss in 2024.
Airtel Africa Plc also returned to profitability, with a profit after tax of $328 million, reversing a $89 million loss recorded in 2024.
Nigerian Breweries has returned to profitability after two years. The company recorded a 68.9 per cent increase in revenue to N383.6 billion, primarily driven by better-than-expected volume growth, a notable rise from N222.17 billion in 2024 and N123.31 billion in 2023.
International Breweries Plc also returned to profitability, reporting a pre-tax profit of N88.9 billion in its 2025 audited results, compared with a N111.8 billion loss in the prior year. Dangote Cement reported revenue of N4.31 trillion, up 20.28 per cent from N3.58 trillion in 2024.
Seplat Energy announced N4.14 Trillion in revenue in 2025, about a 150.4 per cent increase over the N1.65 trillion reported in 2024. Unilever Nigeria Plc's gross profit rose 62 per cent to N90 billion, while net profit doubled to N32 billion, up from N15 billion in the same period in 2024.
Conclusion
We can generalise these remarkable performances to companies across all sectors of the economy. Consequently, this aggregates to a state of buoyancy by private-led companies and sufficiently guarantees the employment of about 9.64 million Nigerians in the private sector, with an implied increase in retained earnings that would, in turn, crystallise in business expansion. This will also reflect in higher GDP numbers for the year.
In addition, these higher-than-expected earnings rebound of many listed corporates has unlocked a total of N1.7 trillion in payouts to shareholders, marking the strongest rise in recent years.
The rebound in business returns is not limited to companies in the formal sector only. The figures in the ubiquitous informal sector, where the majority of Nigeria's workforce is engaged, also saw a high 65 per cent jump in revenue, according to a Moniepoint 2025 survey.
We note, in conclusion, that the strong earnings cycle reflects how companies have adjusted to the new policy environment through pricing power, operational efficiency, and expansion into new revenue streams.

PRESS STATEMENT
INCITING VIOLENCE - GOVERNOR MAKINDE, YOU ARE UNWORTHY OF THE OFFICE YOU OCCUPY
While addressing a summit of opposition political parties in Ibadan, yesterday, Saturday, April 25, 2026, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state invoked the bloody history of “Operation Wetie” to incite Nigerians to violence over his baseless and senseless allegation of the country’s descent into a one party state.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) categorically condemns Governor Makinde’s incitement as reckless, and a clear and present threat to peace and national security. It is particularly disturbing for a sitting Governor who bears constitutional responsibility as the Chief Security Officer of his state to conjure up one of the darkest episodes of political violence in Nigeria’s history to threaten violence against the people and government of Nigeria. By his incitement to violence, Makinde has showed himself to be unworthy of the high office of Governor that he occupies.
Makinde’s violent rhetoric cannot be dismissed as mere opposition posturing. His statement risks fueling anarchy, murderous rage and widespread lawlessness capable of undermining national stability. We therefore call on all relevant security and intelligence agencies to take this unfortunate development seriously and act to safeguard lives, property, and defend Nigeria’s democratic order.
Makinde must be reminded that constitutional immunity from prosecution is not immunity from accountability for threats or acts against national security. No individual, however highly placed, should have the power to threaten or endanger the lives and safety of Nigerians or upend the country’s hard-won democratic governance under the guise of political commentary.
The APC, again, vehemently rejects attempts by confused opposition leaders to frame their internal shambles in alarmist narratives about so-called one-party domination. The opposition parties are victims of self-inflicted injuries arising from anti-democratic practices, miserably poor leadership, internal contradictions, utter disregard for due process and the rule of law, persistent factionalization, and the desperate and dissonant presidential ambitions of their leaders.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was destroyed by Atiku Abubakar’s ruthless confiscation of the PDP’s 2023 presidential ticket in violation of the party’s constitutionally entrenched rotational zoning formula. The Labour Party (LP) was effectively subverted by the restless nomadic disposition of its 2023 presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi, permanently swinging from one party to another in search of free and uncontested presidential ticket. The African Democratic Congress (ADC), so-called coalition platform, was basically stillborn, strangled by the reckless robbery of that party’s leadership by the same band of marauding opposition figures, never willing to remain and build their parties but always quick to use the revolving door on to the next available party. They have left nothing but desolation in opposition trail.
At the APC, we are confident that Nigerians are discerning and recognize that a party so grossly unable to manage its own internal affairs cannot be entrusted with the governance of Africa’s most populous and important country. These opposition leaders and their coalition of confusion have not put anything forward by way of an alternative vision for Nigeria’s development. All they have in their arsenal is fear mongering built on false narratives about the APC.
Our great Party rejects the veiled expectation of opposition leaders that the APC would help them manage their internal affairs. We bear no such duty and will not provide any such leadership consulting services to them. And we will not yield to blackmail to abdicate our duty to our Party to plan, organize and mobilize to compete effectively in the upcoming 2027 general elections.
Our democracy is founded on the idea of competing visions of governance and development. Their failure to articulate any alternative vision or policy framework to the visionary and transformative policies of the APC-led administration is on them, and Nigerians are justified in rejecting their gangster antics designed to threaten their way to electoral victory.
Nigeria’s democratic space remains as robust as can be. With nearly two dozen parties registered and participating freely in the country’s electoral process, the opposition’s unjustifiable attacks on our great Party, and their threats of violence is nothing but primitive capitulation, an admission of incompetence, and a peremptory alibi for what is looking to be a fantastic rebuke at the hands of the Nigerian electorate come 2027.
Our great party, under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, remains committed to strengthening democratic institutions, upholding the rule of law, and delivering on the Renewed Hope Agenda for the peace, unity, and prosperity of all Nigerians.

I Declined the Ibadan “Opposition Summit” Nigerians Deserve a Genuine Alternative, Not Recycled Failure
I was invited to attend the so-called “Opposition Summit” in Ibadan, but I declined.
There is no need to pretend that the same men (and a few women) who held Nigeria to ransom for years, presiding over stagnation, corruption, and systemic decay, can suddenly reinvent themselves as champions of progress or defenders of the people.
Not all Nigerians are suffering from amnesia.
For the avoidance of doubt, our revolutionary party, the African Action Congress (@aacparty ), will not be part of any charade designed to recycle failed political actors under the guise of “opposition.”
Instead, we are committed to presenting a formidable, people-driven alternative, one rooted in integrity, accountability, and genuine transformation.
We will mobilize Nigerians across the country to rally behind a credible vision that rejects the decadence and deception represented by both the @OfficialAPCNg and their opportunistic counterparts in ADC, PDP, Labour Party and elsewhere
Nigeria does not need a rearrangement of the same broken pieces, it needs a complete break from the past.

And so it begins. This man is lethal, this is why they fear him. No Nigerian politician (dead or alive) has accomplished this. I fear for his safety, & I hope his security takes note.
This is the famous Mokola under bridge in Ibadan. This man is Revolution from the ground up. He is ‘The History of First.’ What was thought to be impossible is now possible.
He turned the politics in Nigeria on its head.
He has achieved the unthinkable. He turned ‘big man politics' to 'retail politics.’ This is his famous 'Street Walk.' This man is a Mobile Billboard. He is utterly & genuinely loved by all.
His popularity cuts across tribes, tongues, & religions. Forget Twitter noise, this is the Heir Apparent. This is the heartbeat of Yoruba land. The Ancient Oyo Empire could not hold back their joy. An August Visitor came to town.
Then he decided to bathe himself in Glory by doing what others won’t dare to do. This is the moment of truth. When popularities are tested & hearts are broken. This was an unscheduled visit, no announcements were made.
His constituency is the street. He was made in the street. Nothing could ever hold him back from his Constituency. They made him & he honors them. This is a Conservatorship, that of a father & his children. This arrangement proceeds from a loving father & his children.
He came down from the vehicle, & broke the barricade. He broke established security protocol, & met his children head- on. There is no honor greater than that. He likes to be seen, he has the ‘Street Credibility’ to prove it.
He is not afraid to test his popularity. I enjoy the way & the manner he is being underestimated.
We’ve been here before. 2023 is playing out before our eyes once more! But this time? Things are different! The North, the East, the South, & the West have come to warm up to him. Despite all their gimmicks, the man's national appeal or acceptability has doubled.
He has remained the people's first choice. He knows how to present himself to the masses. In fact, he bathes in it. He is a showstopper.
He is not afraid to meet Nigerians on the street.
Everyone knows who he is. This is the man that should headline your Coalition. He locks down Lagos & makes inroads into the South West.
Kwankwaso locks down the Ancient city of Kano & the Coalition locks down NE/NW.
He locks down SE/SS, & smashes ballots in NC.
The ADC goes home & dry, everyone goes home happy. Like a ‘triumphant entry,' he entered the city of Ibadan & bathe himself in glory once more. There is nothing quite like him.
He is more popular than he ever was. Obi is no longer a boy, he has grown so much. This is not the Labour man everyone knew in 2023. The man on everyone's lips, his 'Rite of Passage' is complete. In a free & fair election? He will beat Bola Ahmed Tinubu before 10 in the morning.
A New Nigeria is indeed POssible. 👏👏

We left Lagos for Ibadan by 6am for the opposition conference, but on the way, we ran into a large crowd of excited supporters. As always, Peter Obi stepped out to greet them.
