Or rather i wouldn't narrow it down to that statement it has a lot of pirate themed stuff but different races and crazy powers where qualities it had from the start so it did NOT change in any way
I highly recommend watching it

Terrible story & writing, lots of characters thrown for no good reason such a cash grab
At least stampede had a very plot centered reason for why all those characters where needed
(Spoiler: because a laughtale eternal pose was there)
