I’ve been handling the grief of losing my step father a little worse than I thought I would… which is okay. I accept it. But I am not used to struggling to create self motivation. It’ll pass and I can be gracious with myself a bit. But I will be very glad to move past this soon.

The left screenshot is from several years ago, the right is from today. Existing as a woman online means that randoms tend to leave unsolicited comments about your body on posts that have nothing to do with your weight, making sweeping assumptions when they know literally nothing about you, your health, or your life. In my case - my weight gain/loss has had a lot to do with my mental health, as well as side effects of different medications. I’ve never tried to change it either way, because I’ve learned to accept me for me in every season. I’ve been dealing with this ignorance since I was 16, and it no longer bothers me - but I felt like this duality served as a good opportunity for me to point out how we may as well be happy in our own skins and be who we want to be anyway, no matter what people have to say - because they’ll always have something to say regardless. And the vast majority of the time, the things they say are simply some projection of their own insecurity or unhealed stuff.
