Teachers are working harder than ever. 💯

As a principal, I’m supposed to be an “instructional leader.” But I told our teachers this week, that I don’t know how to do that in the middle of a pandemic. Right now is not the best time to talk about programs, plans, data points, and “best practices.” It is time to support.

We have lost one of the most extraordinary Justices ever to serve on the Supreme Court. Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s life and landmark opinions moved us closer to a more perfect union. And her powerful dissents reminded us that we walk away from our Constitution’s promise at our peril.

If teachers were paid by the hour, as some people are suggesting we should, we’d all be millionaires.

The CARES act provides $13 billion to help schools with cost of pandemic. There is no reason teachers should have to purchase their own masks or cleaners.

To the people who say it’s all about the kids. Just remember the kids learn in an environment created by the teacher. A teacher who is supported, encouraged and appreciated will create a more positive and dynamic learning environment than a teacher who is not supported that way.
