The Grade 3s practised perimeter and area by creating different community locations. They worked really hard to add detail with roads, nature, and a unique design of the town! @OLVMWolverines
A busy city! Students showed their multiplication skills with these arrays and included the other related multiplication and division number sentences! @OLVMWolverines
Welcome back! I love doing this 3D mug with my classes as they always come up with unique and creative patterns! We finished them right before break. They followed along to "Art with Mrs. Filmore's video" and did a great job! @OLVMWolverines
Best surprise today! I was so lucky to have won a copy of "My teacher's not here" by the incredible @LanaButton ! Catalogued today! She was also kind enough to drop by OLOV and chat with @MrsCFelske grade 3s. Lana-thanks for everything & we hope to book a visit with you soon!
One last 100-day activity that we started yesterday and finished today. Students drew what they thought they would look like when they are 100 years old and completed the sentence, "When I am 100 years old, I will be..." The responses were so funny! @OLVMWolverines
Happy 100th Day of School! A few fun activities from today: Scavenger hunt for things that start with the letters in 100th day of school and estimating what 100 of an item looks like. Some guesses were really close! @OLVMWolverines
Last @hcdsbsteam week post! We had a great Friday in the #LearningCommons! During library, the grade 3s did an unplugged coding activity sheet in advance of the Superbowl this weekend! @MrsCFelske#STEAM
Last week, the primary classes had a great time at the FirstOntario Arts Centre in Milton, seeing Disney's Descendants on stage. Afterward, they shared their favourite parts and characters of the play! @OLVMWolverines
Terrific friends! Students were given the name of a friend in class and tasked with giving them an award. The students don't know yet who their award is coming from, but they will find out next week. Here are just a few of them! What beautiful and kind words! @OLVMWolverines
New year, new goals! Each section of the snow globe has a goal or inspiration that the Grade 3s want to work towards or use this year to make this their best year yet! Happy New Year! @OLVMWolverines
Today's STEAM challenge: Santa Claus needed a table for his bag of toys (*paperclips) so the students made him lots of options. Great creations, Grade 3! Merry Christmas! @OLVMWolverines
Thanks to our high school co-op student for helping us learn about warm and cool colours! It tied in nicely to our patterning unit. Way to go Grade 3s with your creative creations. @OLVMWolverines
We've been exploring patterns, and the Grade 3s were challenged to find ones around their home. Way to go, Grade 3s, finding so many patterns in the real world. @OLVMWolverines#Grade3Rocks
3D figures STEAM Challenge. The Grade 3s worked hard to build different structures out of 3D figures. While everything didn't quite go according to plan, they worked hard and reviewed all about shapes and their attributes! @OLVMWolverines
@mrsnatashajones class led a beautiful Remembrance Day liturgy yesterday. The Grade 3 students really took to heart what they could remember and honour during the time of silence. @OLVMWolverines#LestWeForget
This week, my students have been leaving me messages like this to read when I come back from lunch, and they are at recess. It's so incredibly sweet, and I'm lucky to have such an awesome group of Grade 3s! They are the best! ❤️ @OLVMWolverines#Grade3Rocks#BestStudents
