Spent yesterday in NYC attending Junior Achievement’s Stock Market Challenge! Students competed with other groups around the state and did so well! 💰📈

Sports and Entertainment Marketing students took a tour of MSG today! This time we were lucky enough to see the locker rooms. Such an amazing experience and so much learned about the venue! 🏀🎶

Apparel & Accessories Merchandising students took a class trip to my Alma Mater FIT today! Students attended an information session, campus tour, and visited the school museum! 🏙️📚🎓

Students in Sports & Entertainment Marketing completed a QR code scavenger hunt all about the Super Bowl! 🏈🏟️

Spent second period today getting interviewed for the Rho Kappa Oral History Project! Had a wonderful conversation with these girls 💙

Students in College Real Estate playing Monopoly and examining which investment property was ultimately best for their finances! 🏡💰

Bey asked me to wear his basketball jersey for yesterday’s game! Always proud to represent a student and OHS 💙⚓️

Sports Marketing students had the pleasure of speaking to Phil Strum virtually Tuesday! Phil is the audience growth editor for lohud/The Journal News. Thank you to our work based learning coordinator Iris for setting this up! ⚽️🏀🥊

College Real Estate students completed a hexagonal activity. When each group was done we walked around the room to see how different everyone laid out their hexagons! 🏠

Students in College Real Estate played Life to see what it would be like to have a job and be able to afford housing. Many students were shocked to see how much is taken out of paychecks for taxes! 🏡

Marketing students wrapped up a unit on branding by creating a turkey that represented a brand, without actually saying it! The perfect Thanksgiving activity 🦃😊

This morning College Marketing students collaborated with the Wellness Center to upgrade the signage in the room. So excited to see what it’s going to look like soon! ⚓️

Happy Halloween! Students in College Marketing conducted research on “Dead Brands” and found out why they ultimately went bankrupt and shut down. 🎃👻

This morning students had the opportunity to hear about Hempstead’s Peer Division Court- a unique court entirely run by students! This court currently has 3 OHS students serving as attorneys👩🏽‍⚖️📚

College Real Estate students wrapped up the week with another guest speaker! Nicholas Gallo from Coldwell Banker spoke to students about the business of flipping houses and how lucrative it can be 🏡💰
