They could not believe they were drawing in our mini lesson! We practiced visualizing poems today! They got back to back to their partner and drew what they visualized them we revealed their pictures at the end! @VaughnElemFISD

@tiabiamonte planned the best poetry breakout for us! They got to apply their knowledge of stanzas, rhyme, mood, and imagery to unlock the box! It was so much fun! @VaughnElemFISD

We have had a blast starting our Poetry unit in Reading and Writing this week! We have been exploring different poems and we even went outside to use our Poet’s eye and see things in a different way! @VaughnElemFISD

Third graders hard at work investigation a crime scene in the library. They are asking great questions and looking at every detail. Can’t wait to hear who they think ruined one of our library books.

We figured out the mystery of who stole the Thanksgiving dinner! They had so much fun collaborating and using reading and writing skills to move through the 5 clues to reveal the number one suspect! @VaughnElemFISD

It was an explosive day in third grade! We learned about natural disasters including volcanoes today when High Touch High Tech came to visit! Thank you to the PTA for allowing us to have this amazing program! @VaughnElemFISD

We kicked off our nonfiction unit by exploring nonfiction books and sharing what we noticed! Hoping these readers will be inspired to love nonfiction! @VaughnElemFISD

A new restaurant opened up at @VaughnElemFISD called The Publisher’s Patio! The menu was full of some great stories! Students got to celebrate the end of our narrative writing unit with a super fun publishing party! They listened to each other’s stories and left compliments!

We wrapped up our first unit in reading today by sharing all that we have learned on how to build an amazing reading life! All the skills we discussed are going to set these 3rd graders up for success this year! @VaughnElemFISD
