I have, in the past, done this myself and it was a few years into teaching before I really considered how damaging it could be. If anyone was looking specifically for that child would they be able to find them using a search engine?

I still frequently see schools sharing pictures of pupils along with their names. Usually parents have consented to social media use, but I feel that sharing a picture, under the school account with their name is not safe. Safeguarding should mean photos OR names, never both.

With temperatures hitting record lows, please take time to check on older relatives and neighbours. Many stuck at home would appreciate a hot meal, help with shopping, picking up prescriptions or a visit or phone call. midlothian.gov.uk/midlothiancares #midlothiancares
