In October we took a leftover pumpkin and placed it in a covered container with soil. Every day we watched it slowly decompose. This month we uncovered it and left it out in the sun. We have pumpkin sprouts now! What a great way to see the life cycle happening this school year.

It is Bubble Day in Kindergarten! We learned how bubble gum was invented and made in factories, and practiced blowing bubbles. We made soap bubble prints and blew so many bubbles outside. Nine more school days and we will be first graders!

Today was Pirates and Princesses Day in Kindergarten. Pirates often neglect their teeth, so we learned how to keep our teeth healthy. Each student received a toothbrush and toothpaste from @Colgate Kids. Look at our bright smiles!

Today was Donut Day! We read Norman the Slug With the Silly Shell and Arnie the Doughnut. We learned how doughnuts are made. We counted mini donuts to add to ten. Finally, we used coins to purchase ingredients to make Arnie the Doughnut. He was yummy! Happy Friday!

We learned about the life cycle of a butterfly in Kindergarten. We raised our own Painted Lady caterpillars in our room. We observed them and kept a journal. Three of the chrysalises hatched today! We are so excited! Our butterfly garden is the perfect home for our new friends!

Kindergarten is watching on webcam the Manchester Peregrine Falcons with 5 eggs waiting to hatch. We made our own paper eggs that we have sat on for two weeks to incubate. Today our own eggs hatched…into a PEEP! We were so excited! Now we wait for the Falcon chicks to arrive.

Today we practiced weaving a rainbow craft that we will use this week to trap a leprechaun. We also made a rainbow out of pipe cleaners. We saw how many coins our pot can hold before it collapsed our rainbow. We continued to make it better. Someone was able to put 26 coins in!

For the 100th Day of School, students created a t-shirt showing the concept of 100. Look at all of these creative ideas. We then had a fashion parade to show them off! We are 100th Day Fashionistas!

A is for apple! Yesterday we did some apple investigation! We learned about the life cycle of an apple, about Johnny Appleseed, whether apples sink or float, and how many seeds we can find inside. Then, we ate the apples. Yum! We have very scientific minds!
