Having worked closely with L1/L2 programmes, this Co-ordinator role is badly needed — the workload is real. But excluding #ASTI teachers risks limiting schools from appointing the most experienced people. Parents need to complain. In a system built on inclusion, that’s a concern.

@MrsFlynn19 @irishcongress @ivanabacik What safety concerns were there? I get the AAC concerns and I share them. But I just think the ASTI have been so against everything for so long now that the Dept and TUI have gotten fed up moved on.

@Michell1208507 @mrocathail Exactly, the key issue is that the requirement to declare union membership was not outlined in the Minister’s announcement it only became clear when the circular was published on Thursday evening. This is exactly where union solidarity should matter most.

@JustATeacher8 @irishcongress @ivanabacik ASTI teachers are delivering the new Senior Cycle, the concern was Safety and the 40% AAC. I believe most would agree. However it is students that will suffer.

@1Hildegarde 10/This is a divide and conquer strategy. Split the profession. Punish one union. Reward the other. Use the machinery of the State to do it. It is dangerous not just for teachers but for every worker in Ireland. What is done to one union today can be done to yours tomorrow.
