This is Miller @BristolUni. In 1985 Sunderland Poly banned its J-Soc. This was the precise argument crushingly rejected by @nusuk. Sunderland Poly was - according to our legal advice in 1985 - in breach of the law in permitting the ban. 26 years on, this should be unacceptable.
