@MrBoothY6 Can I just 👏 this?! It can be so frustrating to spend 2+ days on teaching application processes to then find out there are internal candidates all along. Wish it was more common practice.

There are no internal candidates for this role and we have put this on the job advert - the short turnaround date would imply there could be - there isn't - we just want it sorted!

Those of us who’ve been on the merry go round a while aren’t shocked. It was fidelity for a while, British values before that, community cohesion prior to that (remember that one?), ECM, differentiation…The latest Ofsted obsession appears to be pencil grip and handwriting.

People with absolutely no experience of teaching a whole class of under 5s pontificating on how it should be done, writing about it and creating schemes of work they wouldn’t be able to implement. I’ve reached the far side of enough with that stuff.

@MrBoothY6 It also has functions for quizzes and other great features in the free version. The kids just use a join code to your lessons. Similar to seesaw but you can see what they do too

@MrBoothY6 Sign up to Nearpod. It’s free for the basic account. You can see what everyone is doing on their iPads for answers on your teacher account without them having to hold it up. It’s amazing for those kids who may not always “have a go” in fear of getting it wrong!

Does anyone know the best app or iPad accessible website, preferably free, that the children could just use to replace a whiteboard and whiteboard pen? Aka it's a blank canvas and they can write a quick answer on it then hold it up? Whiteboard pens costing a fortune!

@BookLadyKaty In our Y4 classes, they are currently studying Dogman comics and learning how to create conversational dialogue to move a story on to eventually turn into a play script. Comics are an art form of their own! Plus our engagement is through the roof!!

My ten-year-old son has been told by his teachers that he can't take comics or manga in to read as they "aren't proper books" and they "won't help him develop his reading skills". Like, WTAF? This is why children fall out of love with reading, and it's utterly heartbreaking.

@thosethatcan Anything that has no benefit on the children wait until you’re asked for it … most useless paperwork isn’t ever looked at again.

@ICT_MrP Working in 2+ form entries and the word “consistency” means you MUST be replicas and not respond to the children in your class - despite must having “individual” lesson plans …

What would happen if, instead of this forced curriculum, students came to school to learn about learning, and then we let them guide their own learning, weaving in and out of ideas and subjects as they needed?

I’ve been unable to properly sleep for a while. I get maybe 3 hours of very broken sleep a night and waking up really anxious… I’m beginning to really feel the impact. Anyone tried anything that’s worked with helping them sleep?

What does homework, in particular for maths, look like at your school? We scrapped homework this year but parental feedback has been overwhelming in wanting it back. I don’t want to create lots of work for staff. We use TTRS and Numbots.

@Sue_Cowley An attainment scale attached to achievement and not age. That way everyone can be measured against where they are and not where they “should be” based on nonsense.

What should our education system look like to be properly #inclusive? What would we want to change about pedagogy, curriculum, environment, assessment, etc?
